Full Job Description
Support the management, maintain, and administer the Bank's capital stock portfolio, serving as the key contact with the Transfer Agent and Trustee and as the internal point of contact for inquiries related to capital shares and other equity instruments. This role is responsible for monitoring Treasury-issued share reserves, preparing analytical reporting for Finance and senior management, supporting regulatory filing requirements under continuous disclosure obligations, and coordinating related special projects. Provide accounting and reporting support to Canadian Banking Finance and Global Risk Management for the settlement of write-offs and recoveries on impaired retail and commercial loans. Prepare quarterly credit loss ratio reporting for All-Bank results and key business lines, including Canadian Banking, International Banking, Global Wealth Management, and Global Banking and Markets. In this role you will: - Oversee the administration of the Bank's capital stock portfolio and coordinate activities with the Transfer Agent and Trustee to ensure accurate and effective execution of share-related programs. - Maintain strong controls over Treasury-issued common share reserves, including monitoring, reconciliation, and reporting for shareholder and stock option plans. - Review and reconcile Transfer Agent, Trustee, Capital Stock, and General Ledger records to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information. - Manage common share dividend disbursements and interest payments related to other equity instruments, including U.S. AT1 and LRCN notes. - Authorize and review accounting transactions, billings, and documentation associated with the Bank's capital stock portfolio. - Prepare and submit regulatory and continuous disclosure reporting to stock exchanges, regulatory bodies, and other external stakeholders. - Deliver monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad hoc analytical reporting on the Bank's shares and equity instruments to Finance and senior management. - Coordinate and execute special projects related to capital stock administration, including stock splits, issuer bid programs, shareholder initiatives, and other corporate actions. - Prepare, monitor, and manage budgets related to Transfer Agent and Trustee fees and associated capital stock expenses. - Support the authorization and issuance of Treasury shares for shareholder and stock option plans. - Authorize General Ledger vouchers, inter-branch transactions, forms, cheque requisitions, and other financial transactions related to capital stock activities. - Prepare quarterly credit loss ratio reporting and provide accounting and reporting support for write-offs and recoveries across key business lines and All-Bank reporting. We'd love to work with you if you have: - You have post-secondary education in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline. - You have strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal control processes. - You have experience supporting capital stock administration, equity instrument accounting, or related financial operations. - You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and communicate financial information accurately. - You have excellent written and verbal communication skills and can effectively engage with business partners, Finance teams, senior management, and external service providers. - You have strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and special projects. - You have advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and related reporting tools. - You have the ability to review, reconcile, and analyze large volumes of financial and operational data with a high degree of accuracy. - It would be an asset if you hold, or are actively pursuing, a professional accounting designation. - It would be an asset if you have knowledge of securities, capital stock administration, and related accounting processes. - It would be an asset if you have knowledge of equity capital instruments, including prospectus terms and related reporting requirements. - It would be an asset if you have familiarity with regulatory and stock exchange reporting requirements, including filings with securities commissions, OSFI, and public stock exchanges.
