POSITION OVERVIEW

At BDC, we are the only bank dedicated exclusively to supporting Canadian entrepreneurs. As Canada's business bank, we help entrepreneurs create and develop strong businesses through financing, advisory services, and capital investments. In an increasingly complex and rapidly evolving risk environment, Integrated Risk Management plays a critical role in enabling informed decision-making, supporting resilience, and ensuring the Bank continues to fulfill its mandate while prudently managing risks.

As a Senior Analyst, Integrated Risk Management, you will play a key role in strengthening the Bank's risk management framework by supporting the design, execution, and continuous enhancement of enterprise-wide stress testing and model risk management programs.

You will contribute to assessing the Bank's resilience under a range of adverse economic and financial scenarios, including emerging risks related to economic uncertainty, geopolitical developments, climate change, and other evolving risk drivers. Through rigorous analysis and effective challenge, you will provide valuable insights that support strategic decision-making, capital planning, and risk management across the organization.

You will also help ensure that models used throughout the Bank are effectively governed, appropriately validated, and managed in accordance with internal standards, regulatory expectations, and industry best practices.

Working closely with business lines, Finance, Treasury, Risk Management, and model owners, you will provide analysis, oversight, and recommendations that contribute to sound risk governance and informed decision-making across the Bank.

  • Monitor emerging risks, economic developments, industry trends, and regulatory expectations to identify potential impacts on the Bank and inform scenario development.
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative research to support strategic initiatives, regulatory requirements, and program enhancements.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders across Risk Management, Finance, Treasury, and business units to support the delivery of the stress testing program.
  • Contribute to the evolution and maturity of the Bank's stress testing capabilities and related governance practices.
