Full Job Description
AES Clean Energy is seeking a Senior Analyst to join our FP&A and Transaction team, responsible for the financial management of a ~1 GW portfolio of operating renewable energy assets. This role sits at the intersection of operational FP&A, capital markets, and investor relations - providing direct exposure to lenders, tax equity partners, and institutional investors, as well as to strategic transactions including buyouts and portfolio sell-downs. The Senior Analyst will own the financial reporting cycle end-to-end for an assigned portfolio of assets, serve as a key point of contact for external stakeholders, and collaborate with asset management, operations, and treasury to drive financial performance and transparency. This is a high-visibility role with frequent engagement with senior leadership and meaningful transaction exposure. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Financial Planning & Analysis • Lead monthly EBITDA and CAFD forecasting, annual budget development, and long-range financial planning for assigned assets • Identify financial risks and opportunities; partner with asset management and operations to surface and quantify key drivers • Prepare and maintain financial models supporting portfolio performance tracking and scenario analysis • Ensure all variances exceeding materiality thresholds are accompanied by complete driver narrative including one-time vs. recurring characterization and forward-looking outlook Investor & Lender Reporting • Own all quarterly deliverables required by bondholders for an assigned asset portfolio • Draft investor-ready financial narratives including EBITDA and CAFD variance analysis, integrating operational and market drivers • Prepare and respond to ad hoc financial inquiries from external partners, ensuring accuracy and professional presentation • Maintain strict adherence to communication standards: all external investor responses require review and approval before delivery Board & Partner Governance • Coordinate quarterly Board meetings including materials preparation, logistics, and follow-up for senior leadership • Support partner requests related to financial reporting, distributions, and portfolio-level performance • Prepare executive-quality financial presentations for board-level audiences Transactions & Special Projects • Support strategic transactions including tax equity buyouts, JV sell-downs, and asset-level transaction events • Contribute to deal analysis, financial due diligence, and transaction close activities as needed • Assist with portfolio-level initiatives and cross-functional workstreams across finance, legal, treasury, and operations Core Competencies: • Ability to translate complex financial data into clear, precise narratives for external audiences Investor-quality communication: • Comfortable working across large datasets and multiple models under tight deadlines with high accuracy Analytical rigor: • Effective at building alignment across teams and with external partners without direct authority Stakeholder influence: • Takes initiative on deliverables, anticipates stakeholder needs, and escalates risks through the right channels Proactive ownership: • Demonstrates sound judgment and steady execution in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment Composure under pressure: QUALIFICATIONS • 3+ years of experience in FP&A, project finance, or a related financial analysis role • Demonstrated experience preparing investor- or lender-facing financial deliverables • Strong financial modeling skills in Excel; experience with SAP, BPC, Anaplan, or comparable planning tools • Solid grounding in GAAP across the income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement • Experience in the energy, infrastructure, or real assets sector preferred • Familiarity with project finance structures, joint ventures, or bond/lender reporting a strong plus • Fluent in English (required) • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field WHAT YOU'LL GET • Direct exposure to institutional investors, lenders, and senior leadership at a leading clean energy company • Transaction experience across buyouts, JV structures, and portfolio sell-downs • A collaborative, high-performing finance team with a culture of rigor and continuous improvement • Competitive compensation, benefits, and the opportunity to grow within a fast-scaling clean energy platform The expected salary for this position, at commencement of employment, is between $83,000 and $99,450/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position also includes annual bonus.
