Supports the identification, design, and delivery of artificial intelligence and automation solutions across Finance. Partners with stakeholders in FP&A, Controllership, Treasury, Procurement, and Finance Operations to assess opportunities, develop solutions, and drive adoption, in alignment with enterprise data, model risk, and governance standards.
- Identifies and assesses opportunities to apply artificial intelligence and automation to Finance processes; articulates the business case and the estimated value being delivered.
- Translates business requirements into solution designs in collaboration with data engineering and technology partners.
- Develops, tests, and iterates prototypes and solutions using generative and agentic AI tooling, Python, and SQL.
- Designs and executes evaluation approaches to assess the accuracy, consistency, and stability of AI outputs; documents methodology, assumptions, and limitations.
- Builds and maintains the data pipelines and data models required to support AI and analytics solutions.
- Designs dashboards and reporting to make solution outputs, performance, and adoption metrics available to stakeholders.
- Documents data flow, systems and processes to improve the design, implementation and management of business/group processes.
- Maps current-state processes, quantifies baseline performance, and recommends future-state design prior to automation.
- Develops tools and delivers training programs for use of AI and analytics solutions by non-technical end users; may include delivery of training to audiences.
- Ensures solutions are developed and deployed in alignment with enterprise model risk, data governance, privacy, and third-party risk requirements.
- Monitors solution performance and adoption following implementation, and addresses any issues.
- Collaborates with internal stakeholders to provide business context in the design, development, and implementation of solutions.
- Breaks down strategic problems, and analyses data and information to provide insights and recommendations.
- Acts as a trusted advisor to assigned business/group.
- Provides specialized consulting, analytical and technical support.
- Exercises judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given rules.
- Works independently and regularly handles non-routine situations.
- Focus is primarily on business/group within BMO; may have broader, enterprise-wide focus.
- Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.
Qualifications:- Typically between 3 - 6 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in a related field of study, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience delivering artificial intelligence, generative AI, or advanced automation solutions from concept through to implementation - In-depth.
- Hands-on experience with SQL and Python - In-depth.
- Experience developing business intelligence and data visualization solutions; Power BI preferred - In-depth.
- Post-graduate degree in business analytics, data science, or a related quantitative discipline, or an MBA with a quantitative concentration - preferred.
- Experience in financial services, or in management consulting serving financial services clients - preferred.
- Experience with process improvement methodology (Lean Six Sigma) and process mapping or process mining tools - an asset.
- Experience with lakehouse platforms (Databricks), dimensional modelling, and pipeline development - an asset.
- Experience designing validation or evaluation frameworks for large language model outputs - an asset.
- Experience with automation tooling such as Alteryx, VBA, or Power Automate - an asset.

$57,500.00 - $106,500.00

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
