Full Job Description
What you'll be doing:
  • Prepare business case summaries and recommendations for potential transactions (filtering inbound leads and sourcing outbound leads) to business unit leaders, senior executives, and other stakeholders.
  • Gather data and perform financial analysis and modeling, to evaluate acquisition viability and valuation.
  • Understand our business and surface innovative ideas and opportunities for Lightspeed to consider pursuing.
  • Support deal documentation, due diligence, transaction closing and post-merger integration through collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead and support special projects.

What you need to bring:
  • University degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or similar
  • Self-starter with a sense of ownership and ability to work under pressure, manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • Relevant M&A experience in investment banking, corporate development, transaction services/advisory, private equity, etc.
  • Effective teamwork and excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills and proficiency in financial modeling and valuation
  • Ability to exercise discretion and confidentiality
  • Fluency in English. As a global company with employees and clients outside of Quebec, fluency in English as a working language is required for this position

Even better if you have, but not necessary:
  • Professional designation (CPA/CBV/CFA) completion or in pursuit
  • Experience working with diverse teams across cultures globally
  • Experience in a high growth, technology company
  • Experience with SaaS businesses and have relevant industry experience (retail / hospitality / e-commerce / payments)
  • Fluency in French

At Lightspeed, we carefully consider a wide range of factors when determining compensation, including your skill set, qualifications, experience, and market data. These considerations can cause your compensation to vary. We reasonably expect the total compensation for this position to be in the range of $102,000 TO $ 113,000 CAD. Lightspeed also provides a variety of employee benefits including, but not limited to, medical, dental, wellness, life and disability insurance, RRSP plan and match, paid parental leave top-up, and paid time off.
