Opportunity Overview

Teradyne's Device Configuration (DC) Hardware Group in North Reading, Massachusetts is seeking a Senior Analog/Mixed-Signal Modeling and Simulation Engineer to help develop next-generation high-power and precision Automated Test Equipment (ATE) instrumentation modules. This is a senior individual contributor role with significant technical impact, focused on simulation-driven development, architecture exploration, and silicon-to-system correlation. The engineer will partner closely with instrument architects, project leaders, ASIC vendors, and cross-functional hardware teams to define and deliver world-class instrumentation solutions used by leading semiconductor customers.
  • Develop, maintain, and validate mixed-signal simulation environments used to define and optimize high-power and precision instrumentation modules.
  • Build detailed behavioral, transistor-level, and system-level models to evaluate architecture trade-offs and guide instrument development decisions.
  • Collaborate with project leads and cross-functional engineering teams to define instrument architectures through simulation-driven analysis and performance prediction.
  • Partner with semiconductor suppliers to define requirements and specifications for custom ASICs and evaluate third-party components for instrument applications.
  • Correlate simulation results with silicon, board-level, and system measurements, identifying model gaps and driving continuous improvement of predictive accuracy.
  • Support device model validation, characterization analysis, Monte Carlo studies, sensitivity analysis, and performance verification across operating conditions.
  • Build and sustain regression automation frameworks that improve simulation efficiency, repeatability, and design quality.
  • Collaborate with hardware design, validation, firmware, and manufacturing teams to ensure successful integration of ASICs and other key components into instrument-level designs.
  • Provide technical leadership through deep expertise in modeling and simulation while influencing design decisions across multiple development programs.

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • 10+ years of experience in analog and mixed-signal hardware development, modeling, and simulation.
  • Deep expertise with analog and mixed-signal simulation tools, including SPICE, Spectre, or equivalent simulation environments.
  • Strong experience developing simulation methodologies, behavioral models, and validation flows for complex electronic systems.
  • Proven experience performing Monte Carlo analysis, statistical verification, corner analysis, and device model validation.
  • Experience correlating simulation results to measured silicon, PCB, and system-level performance.
  • Strong understanding of analog circuit behavior, precision measurement techniques, signal integrity, power delivery, and mixed-signal system interactions.
  • Experience developing simulation automation, scripting, and regression frameworks using languages such as Python, MATLAB, SKILL, or similar tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with external semiconductor vendors and component suppliers to define requirements and evaluate technology solutions.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and collaboration skills with the ability to influence technical decisions across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Preferred experience with Automated Test Equipment (ATE), electronic instrumentation, semiconductor test, or precision measurement systems.
  • Preferred experience supporting the development of custom ASIC-based instrumentation products.

Compensation

The base salary range for this role is $175,300 - $280,600. This range is a good faith estimate, and the amount of base salary will correspond with experience and skill set. This range can also fluctuate depending on demand and location.

Incentive Plan: This job is eligible for discretionary bonus(es) based on financial performance.
