EPE is a rapidly growing consulting and software company headquartered in Austin, TX, with operations across multiple countries. Our mission is to design the electrical grid of the future. We are looking for a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team. In this role, you will assist with daily accounting tasks, financial reporting, and compliance with company policies and accounting standards. You will also support our Controller in managing financial operations for both U.S. and offshore entities.
The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Responsibilities

- Reporting directly to the Assistant Controller, you will be responsible for day-to-day financial operations of a growing consulting and software company with global operations.
- Lead the integration of AI-driven solutions into current business processes, documentation, and workflows to increase efficiency, optimize performance and support continuous process improvement.
- Own the month-end close process for entity level financial statements, ensuring all journal entries, reconciliations and reports are completed accurately and on time.
- Assist in the monthly revenue reporting process.
- Prepare complex accruals, reclasses and adjustments to ensure financial accuracy.
- Support month-end financial analysis within Accounting and FP&A.
- Coordinate and assist with financial audits.
- Support timely processing of tax payments and accruals.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bring your passion, here's whats needed:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited college or university.
- CPA eligible is a plus.
- 3-5 years of progressively responsible experience in accounting including monthly close responsibility.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles.
- Expertise in ASC 606, including identification of performance obligations, revenue recognition timing, and contract analysis.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks, NetSuite, BQE Core, or similar ERP systems).
- Advanced AI and Excel skills and familiarity with data analysis tools.
- Experience leveraging AI and automation tools responsibly to improve quality, productivity and innovation
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with colleagues and external stakeholders.
- A proactive mindset with a willingness to learn and adapt.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with consolidation and intercompany activities a plus.
- Proven success in process improvement initiatives.
- Commitment to professionalism, integrity and ethical financial reporting.
