About the Role

We're looking for a Senior Advisor, Social Responsibility to join our team. In this role, you'll support the execution of the OCS Social Responsibility (SR) strategy by turning strategic priorities into coordinated, actionable programs and initiatives. Reporting to the Manager, Social Responsibility, you'll help ensure key initiatives are effectively planned, organized, and advanced across internal teams, partners, and systems.

Working closely with the Manager, you'll play a key role in moving projects from concept to implementation by coordinating stakeholders, navigating internal processes, and driving operational excellence across initiatives. This position is focused on execution and delivery, ensuring programs remain on track and aligned with organizational objectives.

You'll also contribute to the development of new ideas and approaches, bringing an understanding of cannabis policy, harm reduction, and public education within a regulated environment. About Your Day
  • Support the planning and execution of Social Responsibility initiatives aligned with OCS's corporate strategy.
  • Translate strategic priorities into coordinated workplans, timelines, and implementation activities.
  • Track progress, dependencies, and follow-ups to ensure initiatives advance and commitments are met.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to drive deliverables, resolve issues, and maintain momentum.
  • Support stakeholder accountability by monitoring progress and escalating risks or challenges as needed.
  • Contribute to the delivery of cross-functional initiatives through effective coordination and execution.
  • Support the development and tracking of KPIs, program metrics, and internal reporting.
  • Maintain organized documentation to support program continuity, transparency, and compliance.
  • Assist with budget tracking, procurement, contracts, and vendor management in accordance with OCS policies.
  • Ensure required processes, approvals, and documentation standards are followed across initiatives.
  • Identify delivery risks, delays, and process gaps, and recommend solutions.
  • Coordinate partnership activities, stakeholder engagement, deliverables, and follow-up actions to support program implementation.
  • Support research, data requests, and the preparation of briefings, summaries, and updates.
  • Assist Communications with sponsorship and partnership opportunities and execution activities as required.
  • Conduct research and environmental scans on cannabis policy, harm reduction, and social responsibility trends.
  • Support the development and continuous improvement of Social Responsibility programs, engagement approaches, and operational processes.


About You
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in a relevant field; an undergraduate or graduate degree in social responsibility, public policy, public health, business administration, project management, communications, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in social responsibility, public policy, social impact, public health, community impact, project coordination, public education, corporate affairs, or related fields is an asset.
  • Experience coordinating complex workplans, timelines, budgets, invoices, contracts, procurement activities, and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Experience supporting program implementation, stakeholder engagement, vendor management, and partnership delivery is preferred.
  • Experience preparing briefing materials, business cases, status reports, trackers, process documentation, and executive summaries.
  • Experience working with external partners, including public health professionals, academics, researchers, community organizations, vendors, consultants, and service providers, is an asset.
  • Experience in a regulated environment such as the public sector, Crown agencies, non-profits, public health, cannabis, alcohol, gaming, or similar industries.
  • Experience supporting public education campaigns, advisory groups, partnership funding, impact measurement, or social responsibility reporting is an asset.
  • Project management training or experience using structured project management methodologies, tools, and trackers.
  • Strong organizational, project coordination, and time management skills, with exceptional attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Ability to manage priorities, track dependencies, identify risks, and escalate issues appropriately.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate information into clear, practical recommendations.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining structure, accountability, and momentum.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, and task management tools.
  • Experience developing and maintaining templates, dashboards, trackers, SOPs, and collaboration processes that improve operational effectiveness is preferred.

Compensation

The target hiring range for this position is $89,129.24- $98,398. This is a pay grade 8 Bargaining Unit role, with a salary range of $89,129.24- $101,607.22. Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
