As a senior purchasing and procurement advisor, you help finalize contractual agreements with the organization’s partners for the purchase and rental of goods and services. You procure the products required for operations by planning and coordinating with suppliers. You may be responsible for one or more sub-specialties, such as the strategic sourcing and procurement of goods and services, asset management, contract and partnership management, inventory and restocking, outsourced service management, and governance. You lead development projects and strategic initiatives that are complex and innovative. Your initiatives require extensive knowledge of your specialty area. You make recommendations on the planning and execution of operationally and conceptually complex projects and initiatives that require comprehensive analysis and understanding of the organization and line of business. Coordination is critical, so you frequently interact with stakeholders working in many other fields. Interpersonal savvy is therefore essential. You serve as a specialist advisor and subject matter expert in your field as well as resource person and coach for decision-making bodies. You represent Desjardins’s position when making major agreements with external providers. More specifically, you will be required to:
- Advise your clients and partners to help them position, plan, develop, execute and monitor major projects and initiatives
- Develop and implement strategies and action plans stemming from procurement business positions and strategic directions
- Analyze needs. Identify, analyze, diagnose and address major issues and make recommendations to decision-making bodies
- Develop and update policies, standards, models and programs to support your unit’s strategic projects and initiatives
- Develop, implement and monitor solutions, processes, strategic improvements and long-term cost optimization approaches. Develop indicators and monitoring approaches for provider performance
- Represent your unit before decision-making bodies.

What you bring to the table
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- A minimum of six years of relevant experience
- Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
- Knowledge of French is required
- Advanced proficiency of English due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with English-speaking partners, members and/or clients
