This Opportunity

SENIOR ADVISOR - INDEPENDENT ENGINEERING AND TRANSACTION ADVISORY

WSP is currently recruiting a Senior Advisor to join our Energy Advisory Services team, specifically as a part of our Independent Engineering & Transaction Advisory department. The candidate should have a broad technical understanding in the energy industry, with extensive experience working on power generation technologies including thermal generation and renewables. Ideal candidate will have experience working with infrastructure investors, lenders, international finance corporations, and financial advisors. The candidate should also be able to demonstrate strong technical, economic, and regulatory understanding in the sector and have a proven track record in leading transaction & commercial assignments and managing teams.

This role can be Remote or may work out of any WSP US office.
Your Impact
  • Lead technical due diligence on projects and advise clients to provide integrated technical, commercial, and transaction advisory assignments in the Energy sector. Responsible for supporting the production of due diligence & independent engineering reports, ensuring consistency and quality to convey complex commercial and technical issues in a simple format.
  • Develop and manage relationships with new and existing clients. Perform in a seller/doer role to pursue opportunities, win work, and lead the execution of projects.
  • Operate as power generation subject matter expert (SME). Coordinate with Advisory Services project teams (including internal SMEs across divisions), and execute projects efficiently and profitably.
  • Create and deliver high quality technical reports, presentations, and other Advisory Services deliverables. Must have very strong verbal and written communication skills and be able to adapt to a wide variety of audiences.
  • Responsible for mentoring less experienced advisors according to business plans and personal goals that are established annually.
  • Support Advisory Services marketing goals through developing and delivering content for publications, industry reports, podcasts, and speaking engagements.
  • Learn new skills readily, as needed.
  • Perform all duties with little to no supervision.
Who You Are

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, technology, business, or another related field is required.
  • 12+ years of applicable energy industry experience with strong technical aptitude.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in engineering, technology, business, or another related field is a plus.
  • Demonstrable track record of successfully delivering complex energy consulting projects within the last five years.
  • Experience working in a leading energy, engineering, or other specialist consulting firm.
  • Experience in winning work, managing teams, and coordinating project execution under tight timelines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English is required. Additional language skills would be desirable.
  • Ability to develop client-facing relationships with confidence and communicate effectively with client senior management teams.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of relevant software packages (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).

Compensation:

Expected Salary (all locations): $147,500 - $272,580

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant's sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.

Expected Salary (Colorado only): $147,500 - $255,860
