Description
The Senior Commercial Advisor is responsible for managing and executing complex, long-term supply agreements across multiple counterparties, while optimizing feedstock value and supporting commercial performance. This role serves as a critical liaison between external suppliers and internal stakeholders, including Operations, Accounting, Finance, Credit, Regulatory, and Legal. The position requires strong commercial acumen, relationship management, analytical capability, and negotiation skills to ensure contractual compliance, resolve issues effectively, and advance strategic business objectives.
Key Activities and Responsibilities
• Cultivate and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with commercial counterparties and key internal stakeholders to support effective partnership, issue resolution, and successful business outcomes
• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of contractual terms and provisions, accurately interpreting and applying contractual requirements to assess impacts, support decision-making, and align stakeholders on recommended actions
• Develop, recommend, and implement commercial strategies that advance business objectives, maximize value, and support long-term commercial success
• Manage commercial agreements throughout their lifecycle, ensuring all contractual obligations are met
• Review commercial data, settlement information, and contractual requirements with a high degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and analytical rigor
• Identify commercial risks and implement effective mitigation strategies
• Apply sound judgment, critical thinking, and commercial acumen to analyze complex issues and drive effective, business-focused resolutions
• Proactively communicate progress updates, key issues, and emerging risks to leadership and stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment
• Prepare clear and concise presentation materials for Management
• Actively lead and support ad hoc projects and strategic initiatives through successful completion
Education, Skills and Experience
• University Degree with 10+ years of previous related Commercial Oil & Gas experience required
• Resourceful and adaptable, with the ability to navigate ambiguity, resolve complex issues, and deliver practical solutions
• Results-driven with a strong sense of accountability, ownership, and commitment to achieving business objectives
• Strong organizational, prioritization, and time-management skills, with the ability to effectively manage competing demands
• Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and analytical rigor
