We are seeking a Senior Advisor recognized for their pragmatic approach, ability to influence, and strong partnership skills when working with teams and stakeholders. Passionate about value creation, this individual plays a key role in ensuring that investments, projects, and programs deliver their expected benefits and contribute to VIA Rail's strategic priorities.
As a subject matter expert, you will guide the organization in the adoption and continuous evolution of benefits realization management practices while supporting teams in their effective implementation.
Responsibilities- Develop, implement, and continuously enhance benefits realization frameworks, processes, and practices.
- Support teams in identifying, defining, tracking, and realizing benefits.
- Facilitate benefits mapping workshops and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
- Collaborate with business partners and Finance teams to establish consistent and reliable performance measures.
- Develop and maintain key performance indicators, dashboards, and reports for governance bodies.
- Advise business owners, portfolio managers, project teams, and executive sponsors on the application of best practices.
- Assess the impact of changes on expected benefits and recommend appropriate adjustments.
- Provide coaching, training, and tools to support the adoption of benefits realization practices.
- Foster a culture focused on value creation, continuous improvement, and results-based decision-making.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field. A project management certification or master's degree is considered an asset.
- 10 to 15 years of experience in project, program, or portfolio management, including demonstrated expertise in benefits realization.
- Experience in business process development and continuous improvement, as well as change management.
- Strong knowledge of benefits realization frameworks and PMI methodologies.
- Proven ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership.
- Experience working with Finance teams on benefit measurement, validation, and reporting.
- Proficiency with tools such as SharePoint Online and Project Online.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and coaching skills.
