Full Job Description
Scope of Job: Responsible for leading corporate accounting initiatives that support the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of the Company's financial reporting processes. This role partners closely with the Corporate Controller and Assistant Controller to oversee balance sheet governance, cash flow reporting, month-end close activities, compliance requirements, and special accounting projects. Provides leadership for process improvement, systems optimization, and cross-functional accounting initiatives while ensuring adherence to internal controls and accounting policies. Reviews and analyzes key accounting transactions, journal entries, and reconciliations, identifies opportunities to improve financial processes, and drives projects that enhance reporting quality and operational effectiveness. Serves as a key resource for complex accounting matters, financial analysis, and strategic finance initiatives.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the oversight and coordination of the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
  • Review and prepare complex journal entries, accruals, and accounting analyses.
  • Support the preparation and review of account reconciliations to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Analyze accounting transactions and identify potential accounting and reporting risks.
  • Ensure compliance with established accounting policies, procedures, and reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with accounting leadership to improve close efficiency and reduce cycle times.
  • Review and monitoring of balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Establish and maintain balance sheet reconciliation standards and review procedures.
  • Identify aged or unusual balances and coordinate corrective actions.
  • Perform periodic assessments of balance sheet health and provide recommendations to management.
  • Prepare and maintain monthly cash flow reporting and related analyses.
  • Coordinate with Treasury, FP&A, and operational teams to support cash flow forecasting initiatives.
  • Analyze cash flow trends and identify risks or opportunities impacting liquidity.
  • Assist with lender reporting and cash-related financial reporting requirements.
  • Develop and enhance cash flow reporting tools, schedules, and supporting processes.
  • Lead and participate in special accounting and finance projects as assigned.
  • Support ERP implementations, upgrades, and accounting system enhancements.
  • Support enterprise-wide process improvement and transformation efforts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. CPA or CMA Certification preferred.

Experience: 5-8+ years of progressing accounting experience. Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting required. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Experience within a multi-site food manufacturing environment and experience with Oracle ERP systems preferred.
