Full Job Description
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE SENIOR ACCOUNTING AND FINANCE ANALYST:

The Senior Accounting and Finance Analyst serves as a key contributor across EEI's Accounting and Financial Planning & Analysis functions, offering a unique opportunity to develop broad technical expertise in a mid-sized organization. This role is responsible for maintaining the accuracy of expense-related accounting entries while also supporting the annual budgeting process, quarterly forecasting cycles, and ongoing variance analysis. The ideal candidate is analytical, intellectually curious, and comfortable operating at the intersection of accounting and finance.

Other important responsibilities of the Senior Accounting and Finance Analyst include:

General Ledger Accounting:
  • Prepare and post monthly journal entries, including accruals, prepaid amortization, intercompany allocations and expense reclassifications.
  • Perform monthly account reconciliations for assigned GL accounts and resolve reconciling items in a timely manner.
  • Primary contact with departmental leadership for accrual estimates.
  • Prepare supporting schedules for external auditors and internal stakeholders.
  • Identify and escalate accounting discrepancies and ensure appropriate documentation is maintained for all entries.


Financial Planning and Analysis:
  • Support the annual budgeting process by managing template preparation, data consolidation, and variance review.
  • Prepare quarterly forecasts by working cross-functionally with divisional leaders to gather assumptions and update financial models.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly variance analysis reports comparing actual results to budget and forecast, with clear, concise commentary for senior leadership.
  • Partner with divisional stakeholders to provide actionable financial insights and drive accountability against budget targets.
  • Prepare executive-level reporting packages and board materials as assigned.


Other Duties
  • Support continuous improvement of financial reporting processes, tools, and workflows.
  • Maintain/create organized narratives and documentation in compliance with internal control requirements.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Accounting, Operations, and Business Unit leaders to ensure financial data accuracy and integrity.
  • Participate in ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as directed by senior finance leadership.


REQUIRED & PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in accounting or financial analysis.
  • Working knowledge of GAAP, with specific exposure to accrual-basis accounting and expense recognition.
  • Advanced in Microsoft Excel, including experience building and maintaining financial models. Power BI experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high degree of attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate financial results clearly and concisely to both finance and non-finance audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines during close and forecasting cycles.
  • Preferred CPA candidate or active pursuit of CPA licensure strongly preferred
  • Experience with ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics.


COMPENSATION

The salary range for role is $80,000.00-110,000.00. Starting annual salary will be determined on individual qualifications. The role is eligible for a performance based bonus.
