Overview Join Casey's as a Senior Accounting Analyst on our Asset SOX SEC accounting team! As a Senior Accounting Analyst, you'll play a key role in month-end closing procedures, ensure compliance with SOX requirements, and support continuous improvement across our processes and systems.
What You'll Do: - Prepare and review complex monthly account reconciliations with thorough documentation in compliance with SOX requirements.
- Review and analyze accounting transactions and automated processes to ensure accuracy and compliance with U.S. GAAP.
- Perform technical accounting research on complex transactions and emerging accounting guidance.
- Prepare and maintain lease accounting schedules, evaluate lease agreements and amendments, and account for lease transactions in accordance with ASC 842.
- Support business combination accounting under ASC 805, including opening balance sheet preparation, and the accounting integration of the acquiree.
- Prepare quarterly and annual financial reporting schedules and disclosures to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and company reporting requirements.
- Lead special projects and strategic initiatives as assigned by Accounting Leadership.
- Lead and mentor team members while assisting with the resolution of complex accounting and system-related issues.
- Collaborate with business units to provide accounting guidance, support strategic initiatives, and evaluate the accounting implications of new transactions and business activities.
- Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities to enhance efficiency.
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors to support financial statement audits and SOX compliance activities.
- Act as a process owner, maintaining control documentation, performing control activities, and partnering with Internal Control teams to ensure control effectiveness and timely updates.
Compensation: Starting pay range: $74,200 - $97,300 . Actual pay may vary based on Casey's assessment of the candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, and qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include local prevailing wages and internal equity. This position is eligible for an annual cash bonus based on company performance. Our full salary range for this role does extend beyond the hiring range listed, allowing team members the opportunity to continue to grow within the company.
Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a closely related field, or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of five years of accounting experience
- Prior experience with technical accounting and SOX compliance
- At least 2 years of public accounting preferred
- Solid understanding of accounting principles, practices, and standards
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
