Job Summary:
As a Senior Accountant, you will be the accounting and financial lead at Medaptus Solutions Inc, reporting directly to the General Manager of the Business Unit. The senior accountant responsibilities will include month and quarter end close processes, detailed review and analysis of the business' financial and management reporting, ensuring compliance to corporate standards and processes, budgeting and financial planning, and financial operations such as invoicing and AR/AP.

The perfect candidate will have a solid grounding in accounting, finance and general business concepts, with superior analytical skills, a strong work ethic and great interpersonal skills.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Perform month end and quarter end cycle close processes, including reconciliations.
  • Detailed analysis of financial and management reporting of an individual portfolio company with a focus on key operating ratios to identify issues and opportunities for operational improvements.
  • Analysis of business performance, provide trend analysis and develop/improve corporate reporting;
  • Review and quality assurance of month end and quarter end close deliveries;
  • Work with GM and group finance leaders to continue to improve efficiencies related to the financial close process;
  • Provide monthly financial metrics related to the financial operations of the business unit to the business leadership team.
  • Ensure financial operations of the organization, such as customer invoicing A/R and A/P.
  • Ensure internal controls over financial reporting are operating effectively


Qualification and skills:
  • Accounting designation (CPA preferred)
  • 3-5 years finance and accounting experience, with experience in a technology-based environment being an asset.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel is required, as are excellent analytical and communication skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, practices and applications under IFRS.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations, Great Plains and BPC consolidation software is an asset
  • Attention to detail with an emphasis on time management to effectively meet timelines
  • Self-driven and motivated
