As a Senior Accountant, you will work as a key member of the LATAM Accounting Team, responsible for the accounting, compliance, statutory reporting, and financial close activities for our Mexico legal entities. This role will support the overall month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes while ensuring compliance with both U.S. GAAP and local Mexican statutory requirements.
The Senior Accountant will partner closely with Finance, Tax, Payroll, FP&A, Shared Services, and external advisors to ensure accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and strong internal controls. This position requires a hands-on accounting professional with a strong understanding of Mexican accounting, tax, and statutory requirements in a multinational environment.
The day-to-day- Lead the month-end and quarter-end close processes for the Mexico legal entities, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare and review journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, account analyses, and supporting schedules.
- Serve as the primary accounting contact for the Mexico entities, providing support and guidance to local and global stakeholders.
- Support the preparation and review of statutory financial statements and regulatory reporting required by Mexican authorities.
- Collaborate with Tax, Payroll, and external service providers to ensure compliance with Mexican tax regulations, including VAT, withholding taxes, income tax, and other local filing requirements.
- Coordinate and support external auditors, tax advisors, and government agencies during audits and compliance reviews.
- Assist with special projects, system implementations, and process improvement initiatives as needed.
What you'll need- 5 to 7 years' accounting experience
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent
- Proven understanding of GAAP, financial statements, and accounting theory
- Excellent communication skills and ability to partner and build collaborations within and outside the accounting team
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office with strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Self-starter with the ability to prioritize and multi-task within a dynamic environment
What will help you on the job- Chartered Accountant and/or Big 4 public accounting experience
- Experience working in a global organization with intercompany experience a plus
- Experience working in an enterprise ERP system (e.g., Oracle, SAP)
Salary range$99,000.00 - $156,000.00 / annually.For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $123,000.00- $184,000.00/ annually
