The
Senior Accountant will play a key role in the Company's accounting operations, with primary responsibility for overseeing accounts payable, supporting the month-end close, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger. This individual will partner closely with the accounting leadership to maintain strong internal controls, improve processes, and support audits and special projects. DDH offers a competitive compensation and benefits package. The role requires three days in office at the Corporate Headquarters located in the Galleria area, with flexibility to work remotely two days per week.
Responsibilities- Manage and oversee the day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, and expense reporting
- Oversee full-cycle accounts payable, including review of vendor invoices, proper coding, approval routing, and issue resolution
- Review weekly check and wire payments and ensure proper cash controls
- Review and approve employee expense reimbursement requests in accordance with Company policy
- Review and reconcile corporate credit card transactions and expense reports
- Maintain and enhance accounts payable procedures, ensuring compliance with internal controls
- Prepare and post journal entries and support month-end close activities, including fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and accruals
- Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, fixed assets, and prepaid expenses as needed
- Manage intercompany transactions and perform related reconciliations
- Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations and investigate variances
- Assist with external audits and provide supporting documentation as needed
- Support process improvements, system enhancements, and special projects
- Serve as a resource and mentor to junior accounting staff as needed
- Perform other related duties and provide support to the Controller and accounting leadership
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent relevant experience
- Minimum 4-6 years of progressive accounting experience, including accounts payable and month-end close responsibilities
- Strong experience preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting financial close
- ERP system experience required; Oracle and/or NetSuite experience strongly preferred
- Advanced Excel skills (lookups, pivots, reconciliations)
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly detail-oriented, accurate, and able to work effectively under pressure
- CPA or CPA-track a plus, but not required
