Full Job Description
Position Summary

The Senior Accountant is responsible for corporate accounting, financial reporting, and analysis to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the Company's financial records. In addition, this role serves as the primary accounting partner for the Composite operation, supporting plant leadership with cost analysis, operational reporting, and financial oversight.

Key Responsibilities

General Accounting & Financial Reporting
  • Prepare, review, and analyze journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements and management reports.
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and integrity of general ledger accounts.
  • Own full-cycle accounting responsibilities for the Composite plant operation.
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS, company policies, and internal control standards.
  • Support internal and external audits.
  • Strengthen financial controls across production reporting, inventory management, and capital project accounting.
  • Identify and drive improvements in accounting processes, reporting accuracy, and operational visibility.

Additional Responsibilities
  • Support capital project accounting, asset capitalization, and depreciation.
  • Assist with cash management, balance sheet reconciliations, and working capital optimization.
  • Mentor and support junior accounting staff.
  • Perform special projects and ad hoc analysis as assigned.

Qualifications

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 6+ years of progressive accounting experience in manufacturing, with inventory management a plus and / or public accounting a plus.
  • Willingness for occasional travel to Michigan.
  • SAP or similar ERP system experience preferred.
  • CPA or CMA preferred.

Skills & Competencies
  • Deep understanding of manufacturing accounting, standard costing, inventory management, and production economics.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial modeling skills.
  • Advanced Excel (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc) and ERP system proficiency.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prepare well-constructed spreadsheets demonstrating financial acumen and present results effectively.
  • Adaptable and comfortable working in changing or dynamic environments.
