  • Identify process improvement opportunities through technology and best practices.
  • Mentor and coach associates and analysts while fostering professional growth.
  • Build strong client relationships through proactive communication and advisory services.

Full Job Description
CLA is currently seeking a Senior to join our State and Local GovernmentCAAS (Client Accounting & Advisory Services) group in our Massachusetts offices

Job Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the primary day-to-day accounting contact for state and local government clients.
  • Manage multiple client engagements simultaneously, ensuring timely and accurate client deliverables.
  • Coordinate and review complex account reconciliations, including cash, receivables, grant activity, etc.
  • Provide advisory support related to budgeting, forecasting, financial management, internal controls, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Assist clients with annual audits by preparing workpapers, schedules, and supporting documentation, and serving as a liaison with external auditors.
  • Support grant compliance, federal and state reporting requirements, and other regulatory obligations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes through technology, automation, and best practices.
  • Mentor, coach, and review the work of associates and analysts while promoting professional development.
  • Build strong client relationships through proactive communication, responsiveness, and trusted business advisory services.


Job Requirements:
  • 2 years of relevant accounting and/or financial experience is required.
  • Bachelor's degree is required. Combination of related experience, education, and training may be accepted in lieu of degree.
  • Experience in UMAS accounting is highly preferred
  • Comfortable in fast paced environment and skilled in multitasking.
  • Strong desire to deliver impeccable client service.
  • Passionate about problem solving.
  • Constant curiosity and desire to learn.
  • Ability to travel to local client sites as needed.

The wage range for this position in Massachusetts is: $79,000.00- $128,000.00
