Full Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to lead the organization's most complex accounting areas. This role will be responsible for ensuring accurate technical accounting treatment for leases, equity and other investments, revenue recognition, and other complex transactions and agreements. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in US GAAP, strong analytical capabilities, and a proactive mindset to drive process improvements and ensure compliance.
How You Will Contribute
• Have a deep understanding of US GAAP and ASC guidance
• Interpret and apply new accounting standards confidently
• Draft technical accounting memos, maintain accounting policies, and ensure compliance with those policies
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess accounting implications of new initiatives and contracts
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for explaining intricate processes clearly to non-accounting stakeholders.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations for accuracy and monthly financial statements that comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
• Recommend process improvements and innovations that will increase the team's effectiveness
• Perform monthly closing responsibilities, including preparing journal entries for review by accounting management
• Work with accounting management and the external audit firm to ensure an efficient annual audit process
• Gain an understanding of general ledger accounts and effectively communicate to members of the Accounting and Finance team the activity that has occurred and the resulting financial reporting implications
• Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data
• Develop and implement accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures and recommending changes when necessary
What You Will Bring
• 3-5+ years of accounting experience, including experience reviewing the work of others
• Strong Excel skills including ability to use pivot tables, Vlookups, etc
• Highly entrepreneurial and detail-oriented
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Standout Candidates Will Bring
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA
• Experience in nonprofit or mission-driven organizations.
• Familiarity with data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau.
• Proficiency in financial systems such as Sage Intacct, Concur, Blackline, and advanced Excel.
• Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
$100,000 - $120,000 a year
For this role, the anticipated base salary range is $100,000- $120,000 per year. This role may also be eligible for additional bonus compensation designed to align total compensation with an employee's overall contribution to the organization.
