Full Job Description
Soni Resources is partnering with a private equity backed company near Metuchen, NJ, on the search for a Senior Accountant.

The Senior Accountant will serve as a hands-on partner to the CFO and oversee daily accounting operations across multiple entities. This role manages core accounting functions including general ledger, A/P, A/R, cash management, inventory accounting, month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis, while supporting broader financial and operational initiatives.

This position is ideal for an accountant who enjoys owning processes end-to-end, working closely with operations and manufacturing teams, and contributing to financial planning and decision support.

Responsibilities:
Daily Accounting & Cash Management

  • Manage daily bank reconciliations, cash activity, and operating account balances.
  • Maintain accurate general ledger activity and supporting documentation.
  • Process vendor bills, payments, and intercompany transactions.
  • Support short-term cash planning and liquidity management.

Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable

  • Oversee A/P and A/R operations, including invoice review, vendor management, collections, and reconciliations.
  • Prepare aging reports and highlight items requiring follow-up.

Month-End Close & Reporting

  • Lead monthly close activities: journal entries, accruals, prepaids, and account reconciliations.
  • Review financial statement activity for accuracy.
  • Assist with monthly financial statements, cash flow reporting, and variance analysis.
  • Support year-end close and external audits.

Manufacturing & Inventory Accounting

  • Maintain accurate accounting within the manufacturing and inventory systems.
  • Track raw materials, WIP, and finished goods; review production and inventory transactions.
  • Support product costing, BOM maintenance, and COGS analysis.
  • Reconcile inventory subledgers, investigate discrepancies, and assist with physical counts.
  • Partner with operations to strengthen inventory controls and improve accuracy.

Budgeting, Forecasting & Financial Analysis

  • Assist in developing annual budgets and ongoing financial forecasts.
  • Update projections based on actual results and analyze variances.
  • Support revenue, margin, expense, and cash flow modeling.
  • Prepare analyses that enhance visibility into profitability, working capital, and inventory performance.

Internal Controls & Process Improvement

  • Maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and improve reporting accuracy.
  • Strengthen financial controls around inventory and manufacturing activities.
  • Collaborate with operations, purchasing, and manufacturing to resolve accounting issues.

Compensation: $38 - $42/ Hr
Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications.
