Full Job Description
About the Role

PrizePicks is one of the fastest-growing companies in the daily fantasy sports industry, and our Accounting team is building the infrastructure to match. We're looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team and play a key role in the day-to-day execution of our accounting close, financial reporting, and compliance workflows.

This is a role for someone who is technically grounded, detail-oriented, and eager to grow. You'll be a critical part of a small, high-ownership team responsible for producing accurate financials, supporting our annual audit, and maintaining the accounting records that support our businesses. You'll have real visibility into complex accounting matters and a clear path to take on more as we scale.
What You'll Do
  • Prepare journal entries across key areas including accruals, revenue, equity, intangibles and more.
  • Maintain and improve accounting processes and reconciliations under your ownership.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline close processes and reduce manual work, and proactively flag bottlenecks or risks.
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, continuously improving their quality and supporting documentation.
  • Prepare period-over-period analytical reviews to support management reporting and identify variances for further investigation.
  • Serve as a key resource during the annual audit cycle, pulling supporting documentation, and coordinating responses to auditor requests on a timely basis.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual financial statement support and footnote documentation
  • Maintain audit-ready workpapers and reconciliation files throughout the year, not just at year-end.
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly consolidation reporting packages submitted to Parent company.
  • Assist with day-to-day banking tasks, including reconciling player accounts, monitoring cash positions, and supporting funding activities.
  • Support treasury-related initiatives, including cash reporting and analysis
  • Assist in documenting accounting policies, desktop procedures, and control narratives for key accounting cycles.
  • Leverage AI-assisted tools to enhance accounting workflows, including drafting journal entry support, accelerating reconciliation review, and synthesizing large data sets while applying professional judgment to validate outputs and maintain accuracy.
  • Support the organization's controls buildout by helping identify gaps, proposing improvements, and maintaining documentation in audit-ready form.
What We're Looking For
  • 2-4 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally with a public accounting background, exposure to financial reporting and technical accounting, or a combination of public accounting and industry.
  • Solid working knowledge of U.S. GAAP
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare accurate, well-documented journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Strong analytical skills, comfortable building and owning Excel-based schedules and reconciliations in a scaling environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage AI in accounting workflows.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple close tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines without close supervision.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document accounting conclusions and explain to non-accounting stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
  • CPA license or active CPA candidate.
  • Public accounting background (Big 4 or regional firm).
  • Experience with NetSuite or a comparable ERP platform.
  • Exposure to revenue accounting, equity compensation accounting, or consolidation processes.
  • Familiarity with the gaming, fintech, or financial services industry.
  • Experience working in a high-growth company where processes are still being built.
What Makes You a Great Fit

You're someone who takes genuine pride in getting the numbers right. You don't just complete a reconciliation; you think about whether it makes sense, and you ask questions when it doesn't. You're comfortable owning your workload independently, but you also know when to escalate. You're looking for a role where you can grow and take on more over time, and you want to be somewhere that gives you the exposure to do it.
What We Offer
  • Competitive salary and performance-based bonus
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Flexible hybrid work environment
  • A high-growth environment where your work has real, visible impact
  • A passionate, collaborative team that takes the work seriously - but not itself

Benefits you'll receive:

In addition to your great compensation package, full-time employees will be eligible for the following perks:
  • Company-subsidized medical, dental, & vision plans
  • 401(k) plan with company match
  • Annual bonus
  • Flexible PTO to encourage a healthy work/life balance (2 weeks STRONGLY encouraged!)
  • Generous paid leave programs, including 16-week paid parental leave and disability benefits
  • Workplace flexibility and modern work schedules focused on getting the job done, not hours clocked
  • Company-wide in-person events and team outings
  • Lifestyle enhancement program
  • Company equipment provided (Windows & Mac options)
  • Annual performance reviews with opportunities for growth and career development
