Full Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Accountant - Plant Accounting plays a key role in ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of financial results for H&V Company's manufacturing plants. This role focuses on plant-level accounting activities while partnering closely with both plant operations and corporate accounting teams. The Senior Accountant will report directly to the Corporate Accounting Manager.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Prepare and review plant-related journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
  • Analyze plant Balance Sheet and P&L results and variances versus budget, forecast, and prior periods.
  • Support the month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate reporting of plant results.
  • Collaborate with the Corporate Accounting team to consolidate financials into corporate results.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects to streamline financial and operational processes.
  • Ensure adherence to corporate accounting policies and internal control requirements.
  • Assist with external audit requests, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
  • Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities.
  • Assist with general accounting tasks and ad hoc requests as needed.
  • Provide guidance to plant staff accountants and assist with training as needed.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA or CMA preferred.
  • Minimum 4-6 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or plant environment.
  • Manufacturing or multi-site environment experience strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of cost accounting and inventory processes required.

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, ETC:
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting principles.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for cross-site coordination.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle,) and advanced Excel skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
