We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for completing the daily accounting operations (full-cycle), of multiple entities, ensuring compliance, and preparing consolidated financial reports & statements. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of IFRS, excellent analytical skills, strong attention to deadlines, and the ability to work collaboratively with different teams.
Duties, Responsibilities, Authority, and Accountabilities- Complete day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts receivable, general ledger, reconciliations, and reporting in compliance with IFRS.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements and reports in a timely and accurate manner.
- Analyze financial data and provide insights into financial performance to support decision-making processes.
- Responsibility for project accounting across the business, including creating, maintaining and reviewing costs associated with operational and future projects.
- Business partnering with internal and external project partners.
- Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and consistency in financial reporting.
- Support and mentor junior accounting staff and guide them on accounting issues and processes.
- Advise on technical accounting approaches, for example, IFRS 16
- Review and reconcile general ledger accounts, bank statements, and other financial documents.
- Support the implementation and conduct regular audits and reconciliations to identify and resolve any discrepancies in the ERP system.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve accounting issues and ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Ensure compliance with federal, provincial, and local tax regulations and coordinate with external auditors during the annual audit process.
- Prepare monthly reports as required, including GST, WCB, and government remittances.
- Prepare and file tax returns and other statutory reporting.

Reporting Responsibilities and Authorities from SupervisorKnowledge, Skills, and Experience- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA certification or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum 4 years' experience of full cycle accounting.
- Strong experience in project accounting.
- Experience mentoring junior accounting staff.
- Strong understanding of IFRS and Canadian accounting principles and regulations.
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
- Self-motivated and results-focused

- Experience working with First Nations is an asset.
