Full Job Description
THE ROLE

The Senior Accountant ensures the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of Nando's financial records through timely reconciliations, journal entries, revenue accounting, and financial reporting. This role plays a critical part in maintain strong internal controls, supporting month-end close, and identifying opportunities to improve accounting processes and operational efficiency. The Senior Accountant partners closely with Finance, Operations, and cross-functional teams to ensure financial data is dependable, actionable, and aligned with Nando's values and business goals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Cash Management and Bank Reconciliations
  • Perform daily transaction matching and reconciliation of bank activity.
  • Record and reconcile bank fees, merchant fees, and other banking transactions.
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and investigate outstanding reconciling items.
  • Ensure timely resolution of discrepancies and maintain supporting documentation.

Third-Party Revenue Reconciliations
  • Reconcile sales and payment activity from third-party platforms including DoorDash, Uber Eats, EZ Cater, and OLO.
  • Research and resolve variances between point-of-sale, settlement reports, and cash receipts.
  • Collaborate with Operations and external partners to improve accuracy and reduce recurring issues.

Accounts Receivable
  • Create and distribute customer invoices accurately and timely.
  • Record customer payments and maintain accurate customer account balances.
  • Monitor account-receivables aging and follow up on outstanding balances.
  • Partner with customers and internal stakeholders to resolve billing issues and improve collection performance.

Journal Entries and Month-End Close
  • Prepare and post recurring and non-recurring journal entries, including credit card fee accruals, bank fee accruals, and other month-end adjustments.

Financial Reporting and Analysis
  • Prepare periodic over/short reporting and analyze trends and variances.
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on financial data to support business decisions.
  • Support internal and external audit requests as needed.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 3-5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems.
  • Experience in reconciling third-party delivery or e-commerce platforms is preferred.

WORK ARRANGEMENT

This role is based in Washington, D.C. and includes full-time presence at our Restaurant Support Office; You may be requested to travel occasionally. All business travel must comply with our company's travel policies. Eligible business-related expenses, including airfare, lodging, car rental, parking, and meals, will be reimbursed upon submission of a properly completed and timely expense report, subject to approval. Additionally, you are required to maintain all necessary travel documents in good standing throughout your employment. The company reserves the right to modify its hybrid work policy at its discretion, based on business needs, operational requirements, or regulatory changes. Any updates to this policy will be communicated in advance.

Pay

Salary Range is $77,000 - $103,000, based on experience.
