Join Our Dynamic Team! We are seeking a Senior Accountant-Inventory to join our team at our West Chicago, Illinois Location. This is a fantastic opportunity for a results-driven professional who thrives on solving business challenges, identifying opportunities, and building strategic partnerships. Reporting to our Financial Controller-Ameicas, this role will be responsible for managing and overseeing all accounting activities related to inventory, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in financial reporting. This role involves monitoring inventory transactions, performing reconciliations, supporting month-end and year-end close processes, and analyzing variances to identify trends or discrepancies. The Senior Accountant partners closely with operations, supply chain, and finance teams to maintain strong internal controls and optimize inventory processes. They also ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies while providing insights that support strategic decision-making and cost management.

This team is responsible for managing financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting, ensuring accurate and timely insights into business performance. They oversee accounting operations, maintain compliance with regulatory standards, and implement strong internal controls to safeguard company assets to influence outcomes.

Salary Range:$77,172-$92,606

Key Accountabilities:
  • Prepare inventory reconciliations, inventory adjustments, and supporting schedules for completeness and accuracy
  • Support inventory close activities including valuation reviews, reserve analysis, and inventory variance monitoring
  • Partner with regional financial control teams, settlement teams, operations, and commercial to investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies and control issues
  • Monitor inventory activity including unpriced, unprocessed, or unreconciled inventory transactions. Aggregate reporting from facilities to provide available for sale quantities to commercial
  • Review inventory transactions including production entries, inventory movements, and inventory-related adjustments
  • Assist in inventory count procedures at global facilities quarterly at a minimum
  • Support maintenance of inventory accounting documentation, process guidance, and audit support schedules
  • Assist with inventory-related internal and external audit requests
  • Support process improvement and standardization initiatives related to inventory accounting and operational inventory controls, including maintenance of global inventory policies by revenue stream
  • Assist with inventory system enhancement initiatives impacting inventory accounting and reporting
  • Support Accounting Department in other areas and assist with special projects as needed

Experience/Qualification Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • 3-6 years of accounting experience with exposure to inventory accounting, operational accounting, or month-end close processes
  • Experience preparing and reviewing reconciliations, investigating variances, and supporting inventory-related controls
  • Prior experience with ERP systems; particularly between separate operating systems that interface into the accounting ledger
  • Ability to interpret operational processes and apply appropriate accounting treatment and controls
  • Experience supporting internal or external audit requests preferred
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with the ability to prioritize competing deadlines
  • CPA or CPA-track preferred but not required

  • Timely completion and review of inventory reconciliations and supporting schedules
  • Accuracy and timeliness of inventory reporting and inventory close support activities
  • Maintenance of complete and audit-ready inventory documentation
  • Compliance with company inventory accounting policies and internal controls
  • Responsiveness and collaboration with operations, regional finance teams, and commercial
  • Contributions toward process improvements, standardization, and automation initiatives
