DescriptionSr. Accountant, InventoryWood Dale, Illinois$80,000 - $100,000Position Summary:The Senior Accountant, Inventory ensures accurate inventory reporting across product lines and warehouse locations through critical cost-variance analysis and ownership of inventory-related month-end close activities. This position partners with cross-functional teams in operations, procurement, and accounts payable, and supports the Optimas Manufacturing Plant Controller.
Areas of impact:- Own month-end close tasks including inventory accruals and related balance sheet reconciliations, cost variance analysis, and ad-hoc journal entries to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
- Support costing methodologies, analyze cost variances, and ensure accurate inventory valuation across all product lines and warehouse locations in NetSuite
- Analyze goods received not invoiced (GRNI) through data extraction and validation, booking journal entries and performing reconciliations
- Review open and closed POs to validate accuracy and completeness
- Support the Optimas Manufacturing Plant Controller with inventory-related accounting tasks in Epicor, including standard cost maintenance and analysis of purchase price variances and manufacturing variances

Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required
- Minimum of 3+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience
- Strong knowledge of month-end close experience including inventory accruals and cost-variance analysis
- Working knowledge of US GAAP as applied to inventory valuation and cost of goods sold
- Experience in industrial manufacturing strongly preferred
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
