Senior Accountant II to oversee critical accounting functions that support the financial integrity of our mission-driven healthcare organization. This role serves as a lead resource within the accounting team, coordinating monthly close activities, supporting audits and regulatory reporting, managing treasury and insurance-related processes, and providing guidance on complex accounting matters. The Lead Accountant partners with internal leaders and external stakeholders to strengthen financial controls, ensure compliance, and drive continuous process improvement across multiple entities.

hybrid work schedule based out of our Lakewood Ranch, Florida office, combining in-office collaboration with remote work flexibility.
What you'll Do- Lead and coordinate monthly close activities, providing guidance and support to accounting team members to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Prepare and oversee schedules related to audits, Medicare Cost Reports, IRS Form 990 filings, and other regulatory reporting requirements.
- Perform advanced accounting analysis and research on complex topics including revenue recognition, leases, grants, fund accounting, and other technical accounting matters.
- Support treasury operations, cash flow monitoring, insurance administration, payroll accounting, and account reconciliations.
- Develop, maintain, and improve accounting policies, procedures, internal controls, and financial processes.
- Partner with department leaders and external stakeholders to enhance financial accountability, present financial results, and support budgeting and strategic initiatives.
What You'll Need- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related business field; CPA designation strongly preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in healthcare, public accounting, nonprofit, or other complex accounting environments.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and general ledger accounting.
- Experience supporting audits, tax reporting, regulatory filings, and multi-entity accounting structures.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, ERP systems, and financial reporting tools; Microsoft Dynamics GP experience is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment based in Lakewood Ranch, Florida, while managing multiple priorities and collaborating across departments.
