Full Job Description
About the Role

Musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions affect over 1.7 billion people worldwide. At Hinge Health, we're using technology to scale and automate the delivery of healthcare, starting with joint and muscle pain, so people can move beyond their pain and back to what they love.

As a Senior Accountant, you'll play a key role in building the financial foundation that supports this mission. You'll own critical pieces of our Order-to-Cash (O2C) cycle, with a focus on bookings, deferred revenue, and revenue recognition, ensuring our financial reporting is accurate, timely, and decision-useful for leaders across the business.

What You'll Accomplish

In this role, you'll translate complex accounting activity into clear, reliable financial information that powers strategic decisions and supports our growth.

In your first 3 months, you will:
  • Learn Hinge Health's revenue model, O2C processes, and account structure, with particular focus on bookings, deferred revenue, and contract assets.
  • Take ownership of recurring journal entries and reconciliations for key revenue-related general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Support the month-end close process by preparing entries, reconciliations, and schedules to enable timely, accurate financial reporting.

By 6 months, you will:
  • Independently manage monthly bookings activity, recording customer transactions to ensure bookings are reported accurately and on time for financial reporting and management decisions.
  • Lead reconciliations for deferred revenue and contract asset accounts, proactively identifying and resolving discrepancies and improving reconciliation quality over time.
  • Prepare monthly revenue and deferred revenue flux analyses, providing clear explanations and insights that support forecasting and strategic decision-making.
  • Partner with Finance, FP&A, and cross-functional partners to provide revenue-related reporting and respond to ad hoc analysis requests.

Within your first year, you will:
  • Serve as a subject-matter expert on bookings, deferred revenue, and revenue recognition within the O2C cycle, helping refine policies and processes as we scale.
  • Contribute to the preparation and analysis of GAAP-compliant financial statements, ensuring revenue-related balances and disclosures are accurate and well-documented.
  • Support external audits by owning assigned PBC requests, preparing supporting documentation, and responding to auditor questions for your areas.
  • Identify and help implement process improvements and automation opportunities across accounting workflows, including documentation of policies, procedures, and controls.
Who You Are
  • You are detail-oriented and analytical, with a strong foundation in US GAAP and practical experience in corporate accounting and month-end close.
  • You embody our Learn-it-all value: you're curious about our business model and eager to understand how your work impacts revenue quality, forecasting, and decision-making.
  • You communicate clearly and proactively with stakeholders, translating accounting concepts into business language for non-finance partners.
  • You take ownership, follow through on commitments, and maintain high standards for accuracy, integrity, and timeliness in your work.
  • You're comfortable in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and can prioritize effectively across recurring close responsibilities and new projects.
Basic Qualifications

Per our Job Posting Guidance, basic qualifications are the minimum requirements and should be clearly identifiable on a candidate's resume.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in a fast-paced environment (e.g., high-growth company, public accounting, or similar), including hands-on month-end close responsibilities.
  • Advanced proficiency with Excel and/or Google Sheets for reconciliations, analyses, and large data sets (e.g., lookups, pivots, complex formulas).
Preferred Qualifications

Preferred qualifications represent ideal experience and "nice-to-haves," not strict requirements.
  • Experience managing, analyzing, and reporting on large data sets using Excel, SQL, or BI tools (e.g., Mode Analytics or similar).
  • Experience working in NetSuite or a similar ERP system for GL, revenue, and subledger activity.
  • Experience in a publicly listed company and/or SaaS environment with complex revenue arrangements and multi-element arrangements.
  • CPA designation, active pursuit of CPA eligibility, or prior public accounting experience.
  • Demonstrated experience driving process improvements or automation within accounting or finance operations.
Hinge Health Hybrid Model

We believe that remote work and in-person work each have their own advantages, and we want to leverage the best of both worlds. Employees in hybrid roles are typically expected to be in the office 3 days per week.
