Job SummaryThe Senior Accountant, Global Tax supports domestic and international tax compliance, financial reporting, and tax provision activities. This role prepares and reviews corporate and partnership tax filings, supports public company income tax reporting requirements, coordinates global tax data collection, assists with transfer pricing documentation, and helps maintain strong internal controls. The position also provides guidance to less experienced team members and partners with internal and external stakeholders to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant tax reporting.
This position is based in Leawood, KS and is not eligible for relocation.
What you will be doing:- Prepare and review federal, state, local, and partnership tax returns, including filings for joint venture entities.
- Review tax workpapers, reconciliations, and supporting documentation to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Supervise and mentor a Tax Staff Accountant, providing guidance and review of work product.
- Support tax audits and notices by gathering documentation, analyzing data, and preparing responses.
- Assist with quarterly and annual income tax disclosures, tax footnotes, and other financial reporting requirements.
- Support income tax provision processes by organizing and validating tax data.
- Execute and maintain internal controls over tax compliance and reporting activities.
- Coordinate with international finance teams to collect information for tax reporting and compliance requirements.
- Gather and organize data for international tax reporting and transfer pricing documentation.
- Monitor and reconcile intercompany transactions and related tax reporting activities.
- Perform book-to-tax reconciliations and analyze financial data to support tax filings and reporting.
- Assist with special projects related to tax compliance, financial reporting, process improvements, and regulatory changes.
What we need from you:- Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field.
- 3 + years of corporate income tax experience with a public accounting firm (Big 4 or regional mid-market) or a multinational organization.
- Experience preparing or reviewing corporate, partnership, and multi-state tax returns.
- Knowledge of corporate income tax concepts, including nexus, apportionment, combined reporting, and franchise taxes.
- Experience using tax research and compliance software.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
- Ability to perform reconciliations, analyze complex financial data, and identify tax-related issues.
- Experience responding to tax audits, notices, and information requests.
- Ability to review the work of others and provide clear, actionable feedback.
- Strong organizational, communication, and project management skills.

- Experience working with enterprise resource planning systems such as Oracle.
- Experience supporting income tax provisions and financial reporting under income tax accounting standards.
- Experience using tax provision software
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience improving tax processes, controls, and reporting workflows.
- Ability to lead projects and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
