Job SummaryF5, Inc. is seeking an experienced and technically capable Senior Accountant to join our Corporate Accounting team in Seattle, WA. This role will primarily manage the accounting for prepaids, accrued expenses, intangible assets, and intercompany cross-charge activities. The role will partner closely with Procurement, IT, PD, Legal, FP&A, A/P, Tax, and our worldwide accounting teams to ensure the completeness, accuracy, and integrity of our financial operations and reporting over these areas.
The ideal candidate brings hands-on technical accounting experience in the above domains, ideally proficient in Oracle EBS, Blackline amortization schedules, and Coupa. A demonstrated interest in process automation and the application of AI tools to improve accounting workflows is imperative. The ideal candidate is a strong team player with the desire to contribute in a high-performing, collaborative environment, with excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to effectively partner across teams and levels of the organization. Key Responsibilities:Accounting & ComplianceAccounting:
- Oversee the full lifecycle of prepayments for multi-year contracts, including accruals, capitalization, amortization, reconciliations, journal entries, reporting, and compliance with U.S. GAAP and F5 policies.
- Own intercompany cross-charge schedules, review and organize transactions for invoicing, and collaborate with worldwide accounting teams to prepare reconciliations.
- Create and maintain accrued expense subledgers.
- Partner with Procurement, IT, PD, FP&A, and other departments to evaluate expenditure requests, determine proper accounting treatment, and document supporting conclusions.
- Serve as a key resource for international accounting teams, collaborating on recurring and ad hoc efforts and reporting needs.
- Own the accounting for your area, anchored in the monthly accounting close process, identify opportunities for standardization, efficiency, accuracy, and automation.
- Willingly explore new projects, problem-solving, and cross-departmental enhancements as needed.
Compliance:
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors to ensure a smooth and efficient audit process.
- Develop, implement, and execute relevant internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
Qualifications:Experience and Education- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- CPA designation or equivalent professional certification is preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in public companies or high-growth organizations.
- Proven expertise in managing the accounting close process, including internal reporting, fluctuation analysis, and execution of SOX internal controls in a dynamic environment.
- Experience in working within financial ERP systems (Oracle, Coupa, etc.), reconciliation tools (Blackline), and AI and financial automation tools, strongly preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Expert in US GAAP and internal controls.

Physical Demands and Work Environment- This is a hybrid role, located within F5's Seattle-based headquarters.
- Duties are performed in a normal office environment while sitting at a desk or computer table.
- Duties require the ability to utilize a computer, communicate over the telephone, and read printed material.
- Duties may require being on call periodically or working outside normal working hours (evenings and weekends).

The annual base pay for this position is: $82,400.00 - $123,600.00
