Summary:
The Senior Consolidations Accountant is responsible for supporting the monthly close, consolidation, and financial reporting processes for a multinational organization. This role requires strong technical accounting knowledge related to consolidations, foreign currency, and equity method accounting, along with hands-on month-end close experience. The position partners closely with internal stakeholders to improve processes, enhance analysis, and support both GAAP and management reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
Consolidations & Close
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidation processes for a multi-national organization with multiple currencies.
• Prepare and analyze consolidation entries, including intercompany eliminations, FX remeasurement, and CTA.
• Apply accounting guidance related to equity method accounting and consolidations.
• Assist with foreign currency revaluation and related balance sheet impacts.
• Support the month-end close process, including general ledger activities under US GAAP.
Financial Reporting & Analysis
• Prepare and analyze financial reports to support internal management decision-making.
• Support internal and external reporting teams, including GAAP and management reporting.
• Partner with the business to enhance monthly variance analyses and financial insights.
• Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of consolidated financial information.
Senior Accountant Responsibilities
• Prepare and review journal entries related to consolidations and close activities.
• Perform account analyses and support balance sheet integrity during close.
• Apply strong accounting theory to real-world transactions and reporting scenarios.
• Utilize advanced Excel skills to analyze large data sets and support reporting needs.
Process Improvement & Systems
• Participate in process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and accuracy within the monthly close cycle.
• Identify opportunities to improve consolidation, reporting, and analysis workflows.
• Leverage Excel, Power BI, and other reporting tools to enhance financial analysis.
• Utilize consolidation systems (e.g., HFM preferred) to support reporting and close.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP, with hands-on general ledger and close experience.
• Experience with multi-national consolidations and multiple currencies.
• Knowledge of:
o Equity method accounting
o Consolidation accounting
o FX revaluation and CTA impacts
• Advanced proficiency in Excel; experience with Power BI or similar tools.
• 3-4 years of corporate accounting experience.
Preferred / Nice to Have:
• CPA or CPA-eligible (preferred, not required).
• Experience with Hyperion Financial Management (HFM).
• Prior experience in a corporate accounting environment (public accounting not required).
