POSITION SUMMARY:The Senior Accountant partners closely with finance leadership to deliver accurate, timely, and insightful financial reporting. This role plays a key part in supporting internal and external reporting, leading critical close activities, and ensuring strong compliance with U.S. GAAP and SOX requirements.
As a key contributor within the Accounting team, the Senior Accountant brings analytical insight to account reconciliations, variance analysis, and trend evaluation, working cross-functionally to understand business drivers and improve processes. This role also supports continuous improvement initiatives and will help shape the company's transition to a cutting-edge financial reporting system, collaborating with peers to drive consistency, efficiency, and operational excellence.
This position is hybrid and requires travel to our Montvale, NJ and Middletown, NY offices.
RESPONSIBILITIES:- Prepare and post journal entries; perform month-end close activities; and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with U.S. GAAP
- Analyze, reconcile, and maintain general ledger and expense account balances. Investigate variances, resolve discrepancies, and prepare supporting analyses and schedules.
- Generate financial statements and management reports (income statements, balance sheets, cash flow) and contribute to SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q).
- Perform and document variance analysis versus budget, prior periods, and forecasts. Communicate drivers, trends, and recommended adjustments to management.
- Review work prepared by staff accountants as needed and provide guidance to support accuracy, consistency, and adherence to accounting policies.
- Assist with consolidations and multi-entity accounting as required.
- Support external financial reporting requirements, including preparation and review support for Forms 10-K and 10-Q
- Provide requested documentation, analysis, and explanations for SOX testing, internal audits, quarterly reviews, and annual external audits.
- Play a key role in implementing and optimizing new financial reporting systems and other technology upgrades.
- Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning efforts.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of financial regulations, US GAAP, and emerging best practices.
- Undertake special projects that align with business priorities and innovation goals.
QUALIFICATIONS:- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; advanced degree or equivalent experience a plus.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred or CPA-eligible; other relevant certifications (e.g. CMA) welcome.
- 3-5 years of progressively responsible accounting and/or auditing experience
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP.
- Advanced Excel skills and enthusiasm for mastering new technology including automation and data analytics.
- Knowledge of ERP systems and financial reporting tools (Microsoft D365 and Oracle EPM preferred).
- Analytical mindset with exceptional problem-solving capabilities and acute attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to convey complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting while maintaining integrity and confidentiality.

The expected salary range for this position is $90,000 - 110,0000 a year.
