POSITION: Senior Accountant
DEPARTMENT: Finance
REPORTS TO: Director, Accounting
THE ROLEWe are seeking a detail-oriented and analytically strong Senior Accountant to support all aspects of own all aspects of accounting, reporting, financial systems and financial operations, helping to ensure all are maintained in compliance with internal controls, GAAP and governmental rules. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of accounting experience with strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills plus advanced Excel knowledge. The successful candidate will be a motivated self-starter, detail-oriented and possess the ability to prioritize work in order to meet deadlines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Prepare monthly journal entries to meet month-end close deadlines
- Maintain account analyses and prepare monthly account reconciliations to ensure compliance with GAAP
- Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures and other process documentation
- Identify and implement process improvements
- Prepare schedules and provide information to support audits
- Ensure compliance with internal controls
- Perform ad hoc projects and analysis
- Support the Accounting team on strategic projects

Education and/or Experience - Bachelor's degree in accounting
- CPA or MBA in Accounting a plus
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong understanding of US GAAP
- Excellent documentation skills
- Experience documenting processes and maintaining internal controls
Skills and Abilities - Ability to prioritize, multi-task and ensure deadlines are met in a fast-paced, changing environment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent oral and written communication skills to interface with all levels of the organization and third-parties
- Proficient in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills, experience with D365 and/or Blackline a plus
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations - CPA or MBA in Accounting a plus.
