Responsibilities

Full Job Description
Job Summary:
Senior level Account Manager within the Large Commercial Lines space performs more routine responsibilities and is the primary point of contact for clients they oversee. Occasionally supports Account Executives with Clients that require extensive administrative service.

Responsibilities:
Perform daily service on assigned task by Client Advisors and/or Account Executives with the agency's written procedures including, but not limited to:

  • Lead day-to-day service and stewardship of a designated book of large and complex commercial accounts, ensuring all client needs are addressed in alignment with agency procedures and service standards.


  • Oversee and execute the full renewal lifecycle, including data collection, exposure analysis, marketing strategy development, carrier negotiations, and delivery of comprehensive renewal proposals.


  • Manage new business marketing efforts, collaborating with Producers and Account Executives to design placement strategies, prepare carrier submissions, evaluate quotes, and secure optimal program structures.


  • Review and analyze policy audits, ensuring accuracy and proactively addressing discrepancies with carriers and clients.


  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of all policy documents, endorsements, and binders, confirming coverage terms reflect negotiated and ordered conditions.


  • Provide expert-level client support, responding promptly to inquiries, carrier requests, and service needs, while delivering proactive guidance to strengthen client relationships.


  • Issue and manage certificates, endorsements, policies, ID cards, and other coverage documents, ensuring compliance and timely delivery.


  • Maintain precise documentation of all client activities, communications, and transactions within the agency management system (Applied EPIC), ensuring data integrity and audit readiness.


  • Utilize agency technology platforms, including upload/download and interface capabilities, to enhance workflow efficiency and accuracy.


  • Serve as a strategic partner to Producers and Account Executives, communicating key account developments, identifying potential service issues, and elevating risks or concerns to leadership when appropriate.


  • Stay current on industry trends, carrier appetites, and underwriting guidelines, applying sound judgment and market knowledge to support client placements and coverage recommendations.


  • Maintain deep expertise in commercial insurance coverages and policy language, ensuring the ability to advise clients on program structure, coverage adequacy, and emerging exposures.


  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, including workflow enhancement, training, and cross-functional collaboration, while providing mentorship to junior team members as needed.


  • Perform additional duties and serve as backup support for other team members or functions, as requested by leadership.


Requirements:

  • 5+ years experience with Commercial Lines Property & Casualty required


  • Strong organizational skills- ability to prioritize and be proactive


  • Computer skills, specifically Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel


  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as strong interpersonal skills


  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, premiums, commissions, proportions, and percentages


  • Reasoning Skills: Ability to solve practical problems, interpret a variety of instructions and deal with a variety of variables furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form


  • Applied Systems / EPIC experience a plus


Education/Experience:

  • High School diploma required, Associate Degree or higher preferred.


  • Active Property & Casualty License required


  • CRIS, CPCU or special training course completion a plus.
