Summary

This position is located at Department of Housing and Urban Development, Asst Secretary for Housing-Federal Housing Commissioner.

Duties

As a/an Senior Account Executive, you will:

  • Serve as a Departmental expert in the analysis of hospitals and/or residential care facilities, particularly as pertains to Section 232 and/or 242 mortgage insurance program policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Be responsible for promptly and appropriately processing complex applications, negotiations with applicants to arrive at terms acceptable to FHA, field reviews of healthcare facilities, and requests from healthcare facilities to engage in activities that require prior FHA approval.
  • Serve as an authoritative voice of FHA in assisting mortgage lenders and healthcare facilities in the complete spectrum of issues that arise in the course of business, from interpreting regulatory issues to approving transfers of physical assets.

Key Requirements:

  • Must be U.S. Citizen or U.S. National.
  • A one year probationary period may be required. Continued employment is contingent upon supervisory certification that continued employment will benefit the Federal Service; the certification will occur no less than 30 days before the end of the probationary/trial period.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized Experience: For the GS-14 grade level, you must have one year (52 full weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes:

- Serving as a senior technical expert and team lead responsible for the oversight and management of complex, high-dollar portfolios, acting as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, and exercising independent judgment in evaluating financial, operational, and regulatory risks.; AND

- Analyzing severely troubled or distressed assets or institutions, developing and recommending corrective action plans and risk-mitigation strategies, and presenting authoritative recommendations to supervisors, senior leadership or executive-level officials to address financial distress and protect the Government's interests.; AND

- Developing, interpreting, and recommending policies, procedures, and strategic approaches for complex or non-standard transactions, ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements while balancing risk management, program objectives, and customer service.; AND

- Leading and advising multidisciplinary teams or mentoring staff in the resolution of complex or unprecedented cases, providing expert guidance that informs executive decision-making and supports organizational goals.

The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.
