Job Summary

Purdue IT | Remote

The Senior Intelligent Automation Engineer is a seasoned professional contributor who independently designs, implements, and continuously improves intelligent automation, AI-enabled solutions, and enterprise workflows across Purdue University. Working with limited supervision, this position leads defined projects and processes that have significant impact on operational results within its area of responsibility.

The position applies broad technical and professional knowledge to translate business needs into secure, maintainable, and scalable solutions. The role addresses difficult and sometimes complex problems spanning multiple processes, technologies, or stakeholder groups; influences operational policies, practices, and procedures; and may coach or review the work of other professionals. The emphasis is enterprise integration, intelligent workflows, digital assistants, process redesign, solution architecture, and responsible governance rather than custom machine learning model development.

What We're Looking For

Education and Experience Required:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, computer engineering, systems analysis, or closely related field
  • In lieu of degree, consideration will be given to an equivalent combination of related education and required experience (associate's degree + 4 years of experience; HS/HSE+ 6 years of experience)
• Minimum four (4) years of experience in Intelligent Automation

Preferred:

• Master's degree

Skills Required:

• Experience:
  • designing enterprise automation solutions
  • with workflow automation platforms (UiPath preferred)
  • with Microsoft Power Platform and related technologies
  • integrating enterprise systems using APIs and middleware technologies
  • implementing AI-powered assistants, chatbots, or knowledge-based systems
  • APIs and middleware technologies
• Strong:
  • business analysis and process improvement capabilities
  • project leadership and consulting skills
• Knowledge of cloud-based architectures and software development practices
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Ability to:
  • facilitate discovery sessions and stakeholder workshops

The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $94,960 to 100,895 annually commensurate with the candidate's education and experience. The final salary offer will be determined based on a variety of factors, including equity, available budget, educational background, and relevant experience.
