Job Description:

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Focal Plane Array (FPA) Engineering Technician D for the Infrared Focal Plane Array team at our Mason, OH location. In this role, you will be a key team member supporting other FPA engineers on next generation FPA technology development and maturation.

Essential Functions:

  • Follow formal and informal instructions from FPA engineers to carry out specific development tasks
  • Inspect and measure semiconductor wafers and discrete die with precision measuring equipment such as measuring microscopes, thickness measurement tools, flatness tools, and scanning electron microscopes.
  • Perform manual and automated processes on delicate, high value wafers and discrete die.
  • Set up and operate semiconductor processing / testing equipment.
  • Perform wet chemical operations with solvents, acids and bases
  • Perform data collection and other tasks involving cryogenic equipment.
  • Accurately record data in computers using Excel and Access and manually in logbooks.
  • Perform minor cleaning and maintenance on hardware tooling and processing equipment.
  • Work extended hours or flex hours to meet short term business requirements as determined by management.
  • Will be in a stationary position for long periods of time.
  • Will handle delicate parts in a steady fashion.
  • Will wear cleanroom garments to include facemask, hood, safety glasses, gloves, coveralls and boots.
  • Participate in and contribute to problem solving exercises common in developmental programs.
  • Mentor junior technicians
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance.


Qualifications:

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.


Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Experience working in a cleanroom environment and handling semiconductor wafers.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
  • The ability to follow detailed work instructions.
  • The ability to contribute to new and unique developmental processes and work instructions.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Experience using hazardous chemicals in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with common equipment and tools used in the semiconductor industry.


In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Colorado state, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, Cleveland Ohio, and Vermont is $65,000.00 - $121,000.00 . This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
