Full Job Description
Position Purpose

As a Technical Counselor (TC), you'll extend your impact beyond a single organization.

  • Advise CIOs, CISOs, and senior technology leaders across North America and globally.
  • Influence industry-leading research, diagnostics, workshops, and advisory offerings.
  • Share your expertise through keynote speaking engagements, conferences, and thought leadership opportunities.
  • Collaborate with experienced technology leaders and subject matter experts.
  • Continue shaping business and technology outcomes without the day-to-day operational responsibility of running an IT organization.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to an assigned portfolio of approximately 20 member organizations.
  • Build long-term relationships with CIOs, CISOs, and senior technology executives.
  • Provide strategic guidance on technology, operations, cybersecurity, risk, governance, and organizational challenges.
  • Deliver advisory services through virtual and in-person engagements.
  • Help members identify priorities, develop roadmaps, mitigate risk, and improve business outcomes.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure member success, retention, and growth.
  • Participate in account planning and member success initiatives.

Education & Experience

  • Minimum 15 years of progressive experience within Information Technology, including leadership roles in Infrastructure, Security, Operations, Risk, Compliance, or related technology disciplines.
  • Experience leading technology functions at the Director, Senior Director, Vice President, CIO, CISO, or equivalent level.
  • Demonstrated success advising executive stakeholders and influencing strategic technology decisions.
  • Proven experience translating complex business and technology challenges into practical, actionable solutions.
  • Experience building and maintaining trusted relationships with executive-level stakeholders.
  • Combination of post-secondary education, industry certifications, professional accreditations, and practical leadership experience will be considered.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% throughout Canada and the United States, with occasional international travel for client engagements, industry conferences, speaking opportunities, and company events.
