In this vital role you will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for all aspects of physical security, investigations, emergency preparedness, security technology, and security operations supporting a large, complex campus environment.
You will be responsible for protecting employees, visitors, assets, intellectual property, manufacturing, research, laboratory, and business operations while ensuring alignment with enterprise objectives and risk management strategies.
The position partners closely with senior leadership, Legal, Human Resources, Facilities, EHS, and external public safety agencies to deliver an integrated, risk-based security program that supports business continuity, operational resilience, and employee safety.
The position provides leadership and oversight for the campus Security Systems function, Emergency Response Team (ERT), and contract security services.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and execute the campus Global Security strategy, aligning security programs with business objectives, operational priorities, and enterprise risk management initiatives.
- Manage all aspects of campus security operations, including contract security services, investigations, emergency preparedness, crisis response, and business continuity support.
- Conduct security risk assessments, vulnerability analyses, and threat evaluations; develop and implement mitigation strategies and cost-effective security solutions.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve security policies, standards, procedures, and operational programs.
- Lead security response to critical incidents, emergencies, and crisis events while coordinating with internal stakeholders and external public safety agencies.
- Oversee internal Security investigations involving workplace incidents, policy violations, personnel matters, and criminal activity in partnership with Legal and Human Resources.
- Provide strategic and operational leadership for the Security Systems function, including oversight of access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, visitor management, system integrations, and related security technologies.
- Manage physical security programs, including access control, CCTV, visitor management, badging, lock and key administration, and security technology infrastructure.
- Provide security oversight and consultation for new construction, renovation projects, and physical security system enhancements.
- Lead and oversee the Campus Emergency Response Team (ERT) and associate preparedness initiatives.
- Manage departmental budgets, security vendors, consultants, and contract service providers to ensure operational effectiveness and fiscal responsibility.
- Prepare and deliver executive-level reports, security metrics, risk assessments, and program updates to senior leadership.
- Foster a high-performance security culture through leadership, collaboration, continuous improvement, and stakeholder engagement.
- Oversee GSOC operations supporting the ATO campus, including security monitoring, incident management, alarm response, situational awareness, crisis communications, and coordination with site security personnel, emergency response teams, and enterprise security stakeholders.
- Serve as the primary liaison with local, state, and federal law enforcement and public safety agencies; maintain strong cross-functional partnerships with Executive Protection leadership to support VIP visits and Executive Protection activities; support site special events and business functions through security planning and risk management; develop and promote site-specific crime prevention, security awareness, and employee training programs; and perform other security-related duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Regional Security Director.

Basic Qualifications:Doctorate degree and 2 years of combined Global Security, Corporate Security, and/or Public Security Sector experience
OR
Master's degree and 4 years of combined Global Security, Corporate Security, and/or Public Security Sector experience
OR
Bachelor's degree and 6 years of combined Global Security, Corporate Security, and/or Public Security Sector experience
OR
Associate's degree and 10 years of combined Global Security, Corporate Security, and/or Public Security Sector experience
OR
High school diploma / GED and 12 years of combined Global Security, Corporate Security, and/or Public Security Sector experience
Preferred Qualifications:- 10+ years of progressive Global Security, Corporate Security, and/or public sector security experience, including leadership of security operations, investigations, emergency management, physical security programs, and security systems programs.
- Experience managing security operations within a large corporate campus, critical infrastructure, manufacturing, research, laboratory, or highly regulated environment.
- Experience with supply chain security programs and regulatory requirements, including TSA, C-TPAT, and related transportation and cargo security standards.
- Experience within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or life sciences industry preferred.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in criminal justice, Security Management, Emergency Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- ASIS Certified Protection Professional (CPP) and/or Physical Security Professional (PSP) certification preferred.
- Experience leading, supporting, or partnering with a Global Security Operations Center (GSOC), including incident management, threat monitoring, intelligence reporting, crisis communications, and security technology integration.
- Strong knowledge of security risk management, investigations, crisis management, emergency response, and business continuity practices.
- Demonstrated expertise in physical security technologies, including access control, CCTV, visitor management, and integrated security systems.
- Proven ability to influence senior leaders, manage cross-functional relationships, and drive strategic initiatives in a matrixed environment.
- Experience managing security suppliers, consultants, and contract security providers.
- Strong communication, analytical, financial, and leadership skills.
