Position OverviewServes as an Alternate Special Security Representative and Contractor SAP Security Officer for the 645th AESS. Responsible for all aspects of the specialized physical, information, industrial, and personnel security programs across a wide range of classified and highly sensitive defense acquisition and intelligence programs. The security specialist will develop, implement, and manage all aspects of Collateral, Special Compartmented Information (SCI), and Special Access Program (SAP) security programs for 645 AESS.
Responsibilities
- Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of the security office, ensuring that all security programs comply with command, legal and regulatory requirements.
- Implements and administers the Collateral, SCI and SAP personnel/physical security programs.
- Leads cross functional teams to resolve complex, highly technical security issues beyond common security problems to evaluate susceptibility of critical information, develop security guidance where guidance did not previously exist, and implement controls and protections to prevent compromise or exposure of sensitive technologies.
- Implements and administers the Industrial Security Program related actions using DoD, USAF, and other directives and procedures.
- Implements DoD, USAF, Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), and Field Command policies and directives for the construction, protection, and operation of advanced programs facilities to include sensitive compartmented information facilities (SCIFs).
- Transmit/receive classified materials via mail, hand-carry or Defense Courier Service (DCS).
- Respond to alarm notifications within 1 hour (if contacted).
- Coordinate all foreign visits with higher headquarters and local facility security.
- Prepares SCI nominations/TIS for incoming personnel and maintains the SCI billet roster for the squadron
- Conduct security incident review, security evaluations, and self-inspections as required.
- Develop, distribute and track annual/quarterly security awareness and training.
- Schedules/coordinates secure Video Teleconferencing and secure voice communications
- Coordinate with industry partners, higher headquarters, and program offices to obtain needed services.
- Perform other security duties (SM/SSR/GSSO) as assigned.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree, 3 years with a Master’s degree, a PhD without experience, or equivalent work experience is typically required for an employee at this level.
- Required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise.
- Position requires a TOP SECRET (TS) security clearance with eligibility for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and be able to pass a Counter-Intelligence Polylgraph
- Employee needs to obtain and maintain approval to access the portfolio of Special Access Programs required to perform daily duties.
- May be required to travel by military or commercial aircraft in the performance of TDY assignments.
- Employee is in a position that requires consent and thereafter be subject to and successfully complete, an initial, periodic, and random counterintelligence (CI) scope polygraph examination as a condition of employment. The employee must successfully take and pass a Counterintelligence Polygraph (CIP) Examination.
