About the Position: Works under the general direction of the HQDA Chief of Staff Army, Army Special Programs Directorate, Washington, D.C.

Duties

Help

  • Responsible for matters associated primarily with the development, review, and coordination for SAP Security policy in all functional areas.
  • Conducts security curriculum reviews for Army and industry implementation and represents the Army SAP Central Office (SAPCO) at the Center for Development of Security Excellence (CDSE).
  • Advises the ASPD leadership on mitigation strategies and procedure implementation and changes impacting the Army SAP technologies and information.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Temporary Duty (TDY) business travel may be required approximately 25% of the time.
  • Must obtain and maintain a Sensitive Compartmented Information/Top Secret security clearance.
  • This position is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) subject to applicant testing and random drug testing.
  • Incumbent must be willing to take a polygraph when required by supported activities.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience GS-13: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting in the development, review, or coordination of security policies related to Special Access Programs (SAPs), applying SAP security policies to answer questions or resolve procedural issues, and reviewing security curriculum or training materials for compliance with established SAP security policy. This definition of specialized experience is typical work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Specialized Experience GS-14: One year specialized experience which includes leading the development, review, and implementation of security policies that affect Special Access Program (SAP) enterprise, serving as a subject matter expert for the interpretation of complex security policies and regulations, and representing an organization to draft, review, and coordinate SAP security policy. This definition of specialized experience is typical work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12/13).

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience aloneno substitution of education for experience is permitted.
