Responsibilities

What You'll Do:

This candidate will provide diligent oversight of COMSEC operations and execute a broad range of critical lifecycle management functions in support of both the program office mission and the wider COMSEC enterprise. They will apply technical expertise and program management skills to maintain the integrity, availability, and security of communications systems through rigorous management of COMSEC equipment, keying material, and associated processes.

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the receipt, transfer, safeguarding, custody, issuance, and destruction of COMSEC material in accordance with NSA COMSEC Policy.
  • Responsible for providing oversight and troubleshooting of COMSEC equipment at the program management office and field sites.
  • Manage and maintain secure voice equipment and mobile secure phones, providing user training, updates, and technical guidance as required.
  • Operate, support, and troubleshoot secure communication systems, including vIPer phones, DIAS, and AN/PYQ-10 Simple Key Loaders, ensuring operational readiness and compliance with security protocols..
  • Maintain COMSEC generated documentation to include Letters of Appointment and User Designations, briefings, reconciliations, inventories, and SF-153's.
  • Conduct semi-annual, self-inspections, to include inventories of all COMSEC material; conduct and document monthly spot checks.
  • Key in-line encryption devices and troubleshoot when necessary.
  • Develop standard operating procedures and continuity guides related to specific functions in accordance with the statement of work.
  • Develop Security, Education, Training, and Awareness (SETA) material for COMSEC custodians and users and provide all aspects of SETA training as required annually or when specific user training is needed.
  • Investigate, prepare and submit COMSEC incident reports to the NSA Central Office of Record Procedures and Insecurities Branch and the Program Security Manager.
  • Assist in preparing for COMSEC inspections, audits, and Staff Assistance Visits.
  • Maintain the Emergency Action Plan; conduct and document periodic Emergency Response drills.
  • Establish/maintain office administration and security records and files.
  • Assist with entering data into the physical security tracking database.
  • Assist in the development of the Operations Security (OPSEC) Plan.
  • Operate a government vehicle in accordance with the DD Form 254 and safeguard government property.

Qualifications

Education:
  • High School/GED Equivalent

Experience:
  • The ideal candidate would have a minimum 6 years of relevant COMSEC experience, including 2 years in an SAP environment, strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate, auditable records, with willingness to support other security related activities, as needed.
  • Completion of National Security Agency (NSA) IAEC 2112 COMSEC Custodian Course Certification.
  • Manage, store, and distribute encrypted keying material; proficiency with the vIPer phone, DIAS, and AN/PYQ-10 Simple Key Loader to ensure secure classified voice and data communications.

Skills:
  • Must be familiar with various fill various devices such as the SKL and KG Encryptor family.
  • Must be experienced with the Distributed INFOSEC Accounting System (DIAS).
  • Knowledge of NSA COMSEC Manual 3-16, dated January 2020 and the CNSSI 4005, dated Mar 2024, DoDM 5205.07 Volumes 1-4, and DoDM 5200.01 Volumes 1-4.
  • Proficiency with DISS (formerly JPAS) and Microsoft Office Suite.

Security Clearance:
  • This position will require U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance.

Travel:
  • Travel throughout the continental United States is required 5% of the time.
  • Ability to travel with less than 24-hour notice.

  • The following salary range is intended to display the value of the company's base pay compensation and may be modified at the discretion of the company. USD $92,000-$100,000
