Overview

The Security Specialist supports U.S. Marine Corps Forces Cyberspace Command (MARFORCYBER) security operations at Fort Meade, Maryland, with a primary focus on safeguarding Special Access Program (SAP) information, personnel, facilities, and activities. This position assists the Contractor Special Access Program Security Officer (CSSO) with the day-to-day administration and execution of SAP security requirements, including personnel access, security education and training, classified material accountability, facility compliance, inspections, incident reporting, and records management. The role coordinates with Government security authorities and supported personnel to maintain compliant, audit-ready security processes and to protect sensitive mission information in a high-security operational environment.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with implementing, monitoring, and maintaining security protocols for Special Access Programs in accordance with DoD Manual 5205.07 and other applicable Government and Marine Corps security requirements.
  • Support the CSSO and coordinate with designated Government security authorities on recurring SAP security actions, emerging requirements, access matters, and issue resolution.
  • Develop, coordinate, update, and enforce facility- and program-specific SAP standard operating procedures, ensuring alignment with approved guidance and established security practices.
  • Support the Security Education, Training, and Awareness program by administering initial security briefings, annual refresher training, debriefings, and event-driven training for SAP-accessed personnel.
  • Administer personnel access and visitor-control processes, including verification of clearance, eligibility, need-to-know, and SAP access using approved systems of record such as the Defense Information System for Security and the Joint Access Database Environment or its successor.
  • Maintain accountability and control of SAP-classified material, including receipt, distribution, reproduction, storage, inventory, transmission, and authorized destruction.
  • Prepare for and support internal self-inspections and external SAP security compliance inspections; document findings, track corrective actions, and verify resolution of identified deficiencies.
  • Conduct periodic reviews of Special Access Program Facilities and Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities to support continued compliance with applicable physical and technical security standards, including Intelligence Community Directive 705 requirements.
  • Support security incident reporting and initial inquiry activities for infractions, violations, and other reportable events, ensuring prompt and accurate notification to the appropriate Government security authority.
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and audit-ready personnel security files, SAP access rosters, visit certifications, training records, classified material records, inspection documentation, and related security correspondence.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant Department of Defense and/or Intelligence Community security experience, including at least 1 year of direct, hands-on experience supporting a Special Access Program environment.
  • High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Completion of foundational Center for Development of Security Excellence or Security Training, Education, and Professionalization Portal security training is required; SAP-related security training is highly desirable.
  • Clearance: Active Top Secret security clearance with a Polygraph completed within the last 6 years.
  • Working knowledge of SAP security policies, procedures, access controls, classified material accountability, inspection requirements, and incident-reporting processes.
  • Proficiency with the DISS, JADE, and other authorized security-management systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as SharePoint and Adobe applications.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, a high degree of attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative, high-security environment.
Pay Transparency StatementAMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $100,000.00/Yr. - USD $130,000/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
