Job DescriptionAs a Security Specialist, you will work directly with the Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO) and for the Facility Security Officer (FSO), all levels of leadership, and both internal and external customers to support a variety of interesting and dynamic programs. This role provides onsite support for the site's collateral security program.
The candidate must exercise discretion and independent judgement in performing the following tasks:
- Interpret and enforce government and internal company policies as well as provide direction and guidance to employees.
- Develop and implement security plans and procedures utilizing the new 32 CFR Part 117 National Industrial Security Operating Manual (NISPOM) as well as any other specific programmatic instruction manuals in concert with management.
- Fully understand and implement program security requirements.
- Responsible for reviewing, drafting, and ensuring compliance for all collateral DD254s.
- Assist with international requirements to include government-to-government shipments, foreign visitor requirements, and Export Control compliance.
- Assist with facility construction and continued accreditation requirements.
- Provide security guidance to company personnel.
- Conduct security briefings as necessary.
- Conduct investigations and interviews of non-compliance matters and issues relating to security violations.
- Completes appropriate documentation according to company and government directives.
- Assist with security reviews to include Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) visits, formal self-inspections, and Staff Assistance Visits (internal audits).
Additional duties/tasks as required and assigned by the FSO.
Required Skills and Education4 or more years of relevant work experience to the position and requirements with a minimum of a high school diploma. Additional education is a plus.
• Top Secret Security Clearance is required or the ability to obtain one.
• Demonstrated knowledge of 32 CFR Part 117 NISPOM.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks.
• Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgement while complying with policies, procedures, appropriate principles, and applicable state and federal laws and regulations.
• High level of personal motivation and initiative to learn and acquire new skills, and adapt seamlessly to an ever-changing security environment.
• Customer focused, excellent communicator (written and verbal), and ability to work with limited supervision.
• Ability to manage time, make sound decisions, take independent action, analyze problems, and provide focused solutions.
Preferred Skills and Education- Bachelors Degree
- Top Secret Clearance
- Previous experience with DISS, NISS, and SIMS
- Facility Security Officer Program Management for Possessing Facilities Certificate (via CDSE)
- Insider Threat Program for Industry Curriculum, INT33.CU provided by the Center for Development of Security Excellence (CDSE) or equivalent training.
