Responsibilities

  • Conduct investigations into violations of law, policy, and incidents, reporting findings to law enforcement when necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with TSA, DOT, and U.S. Customs regulations, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Administer compliance reviews and security audits, ensuring adherence to best practices.
  • Manage the resolution of security incidents by liaising with unit management and external agencies.
  • Build relationships with law enforcement, airport security, and regulatory bodies to enhance security measures.
  • Report investigation findings and security concerns to unit leadership and Regional Security management.
  • Oversee the ID badging and access control systems for the unit.

Full Job Description
Job Summary: Manages local Gate Gourmet security and compliance program in accordance with the North American Region security and compliance program. Ensures top leaders in the unit and Regional leadership are fully informed of incidents, investigations and outcomes. The security program focuses on prevention and control of losses from theft, fraud, vandalism, workplace violence, threats and a wide range of criminal matters. It includes security reviews of facilities and recommendations for changes based on law, policy and best practices. The compliance program focuses on TSA, DOT and U.S. Customs and Border Protection issues and prevention of violations. This includes conducting regular compliance reviews, and conducting investigations into incidents brought by those agencies, and reporting on findings. Reports findings and coordinates efforts with law enforcement agencies as appropriate. Follows up with corrective actions as appropriate to the event and monitors results. w Ensures unit compliance and conducts investigations of violations of TSA, DOT and U.S. Customs and Border Protection regulations as alleged by those agencies, reports findings, and follows up with corrective actions as appropriate to the event, and monitors results. w Ensures compliance with company security policies and procedures and company developed security best practices through training, unit reviews and inspections. w Assist with driver compliance management. w Manages resolution of security incidents by responding or maintaining contact with unit management, personnel, airport, Amtrak officials or law enforcement as appropriate. w Builds and maintains rapport with local law enforcement, airports, TSA, and other regulatory agencies. w Reports findings of investigations and reviews and recommendations to unit leadership and the Area Security Manager, the Director of Regional Security. w Accomplishes organizations security and compliance mission by completing related work as needed. w Manages ID badging and access control system. w Manages and maintains relationships with third party security companies as needed to ensure the safety of unit personnel, and security of the building, vehicles and all other company property. Qualifications Education: A high school diploma or equivalent, is required. Associates degree preferred. Work Experience: w At least five (5) years of professional experience in building/facility security or in law enforcement. w Preference for experience in airline, transportation or large manufacturing businesses. Technical Skills: (Certification, Licenses and Registration) w ASIS International CPP (Certified Protection Professional), or PCI (Professional Certified Investigator) is desirable. Language / Communication Skills: w Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. w Comfortable communicating with all levels of employees, and the ability to interact well with all levels. w Ability to build and develop relationships that will foster a culture of security within large organizations w Multi-lingual skills highly desirable. Work Environment / Requirements of the Job: w Position requires knowledge, experience and demonstrated competency in: o Conducting investigations and compliance audits, including interview and interrogation techniques o Writing reports of findings and corrective actions for the unit to agree to and implement o Interpreting regulations, relevant criminal, civil and employment laws, and corporate policies and procedures w Knowledge of office equipment (fax machine, computer, calculator, etc.) is required w Knowledge and experience with MS Office programs is required w Ability to respond to unusual or emergency situations and conditions in and around the unit with appropriate level of intervention to safely de-escalate the situation.
