What you will do

Johnson Controls is seeking a Field Project Manager to support integrated physical security projects for Federal Government agencies. In this role, you will help deliver projects from start-up through commissioning and final acceptance while supporting contract requirements, project profitability, and strong customer relationships.

You will be responsible for the successful lifecycle of installation and service projects within our Government Technologies business. This includes coordinating field execution, managing project schedules, supporting billing and close-out activities, and working closely with customers, subcontractors, branch offices, and internal teams to keep work moving smoothly and in line with contractual obligations.

How you will do it

• Provide daily functional management for assigned installation and service projects.
• Monitor SLA schedules and coordinate technical work from start-up through check-out, commissioning, and final project acceptance.
• Review contracts and schedule requirements to support procurement, delivery of materials, field office involvement, and subcontractor coordination.
• Direct employees and subcontractors on assigned projects and manage day-to-day execution.
• Maintain project records, changes, material flow, reports, correspondences, claims, punch list records, audits, schedules, and close-out analyses.
• Build effective communication between customers, engineering, technical support, and on-site construction trades.
• Support sales representatives with proposal and contract preparation for large systems.
• Share technical feedback with Technical Services and Engineering Management to support productivity and quality improvements.
• Ensure billing for installation jobs and monthly services is accurate and delivered on time within the SLA.
• Provide weekly status reports to customers on all open projects.
• Own project execution with accountability, keeping safety, quality, schedule, and profitability aligned every day.
• Stay close to the work by coordinating field activity from planning and procurement through commissioning and close-out.
• Remove obstacles quickly by keeping materials, subcontractors, and internal support teams aligned to contract and SLA needs.
• Communicate clearly and candidly with customers, branch offices, engineering, and technical teams so issues are identified early and resolved fast.
• Use disciplined reporting, recordkeeping, and follow-through to maintain control of changes, billing, and project status.
• Work collaboratively across functions and perspectives to deliver a clean handoff and a strong customer experience.

What we look for

Required

• Three (3) to five (5) years of project management experience preferably in the Physical Security field (preferred).
• Three (3) to five (5) years of construction, electrical, electronic security, or systems integration experience (preferred).
• Knowledge of access control systems, CCTV both analog and IP-based, intercom systems, and intrusion detection systems (preferred).

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills coupled with demonstrated judgment skills
• Excellent customer service skills both internal and external)
• Ability to organize and prioritize workload and resources for effective implementation
• Must be a self-motivated and organized individual
• Excellent PC skills (word processing, spreadsheet, presentation)
• Demonstrated problem-solving and ability to independently carry out responsibilities under general supervision
• Ability to effectively interact with all levels of the Johnson Controls and customer organization
• Ability to function as an effective team leader and team member
• Maintain a positive working environment

• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in a related field; i.e., Electrical Engineering, Security Management, Building Construction, and or Mechanical engineering (preferred) or related experience
• Must be able to obtain and maintain any of the following certifications PMP, CSPM, PSP, CPP within 6 months of hire

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $75,000- 1110,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
