Full Job Description
Secure Third Party Tools (S3T) is looking for a Security Engineer to aid on our issue to identify, measure and remediate security risks of engagement with 3Ps and their products that get access to Amazon's data. S3T conducts assessments to determine if third party usage meets Amazon's security bar and the security measures required to remediate gaps to meet the security Bar. We help with security risk reduction, by identifying required security measures, helping determine acceptable methods of meeting security control objectives including application of compensating controls or other risk-reduction activities. As a Security Engineer, you will collaborate with teams across business, science, product, software development, other security engineers and 3Ps to identify security risks and remediate them. You will also collaborate in defining the right security controls in the evolving security landscape to safeguard our customer's data. In You will conduct security deep-dive reviews (e.g. product security review and testing), developing security guardrails and baselines for partner teams to securely use third party products and services, collaborate on securing integrations of third party products with Amazon services, advising on security configurations, building tools to help assess and monitor security posture of 3Ps building mechanisms to identify and monitor usage of 3Ps and improving existing capabilities of S3T.

The ideal candidate combines technical acumen with an ability to lead by influence and communicate clearly.

Key job responsibilities

- Solving evolving security problems that require novel methods or approaches

- Leading security projects (including security reviews, tool development, and creation of new security practices) with end-to-end ownership

- Creating, updating, and maintaining threat models for a wide variety of use cases

- Acting as technical security specialist on risk-based security reviews and assessments

- Collecting/reviewing data from multiple sources to conduct a security review

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of programming in Python, Ruby, Go, Swift, Java, .Net, C++ or similar object oriented language experience

- 2+ years of scripting, programming, and security code review in a common programming language (non-internship) experience

- 2+ years of troubleshooting systems issues, analyzing logs, or automating basic tasks using command line tools (non-internship) experience

- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

- Bachelor's degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics), or experience in IT Security

- Bachelor's degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics), or 2+ years of IT Security experience

- Knowledge of networking protocols such as HTTP, DNS and TCP/IP

- Knowledge of industry-based security vulnerabilities and remediation techniques

- Experience in scripting, programming, and security code reviewing in a common programming language (non-internship)

- Experience in troubleshooting systems issues, analyzing logs, or automating basic tasks using command line tools (non-internship experience)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 2+ years of any combination of the following: threat modeling experience, secure coding, identity management and authentication, software development, cryptography, system administration and network security experience

- 2+ years of scripting, programming, or security code review in a common language, such as Python, Java or C++ experience

- Knowledge of command line tools to troubleshoot protocols, analyze log outputs, or automate basic tasks

- Knowledge of networking protocols such as HTTP(S), DNS, and TCP/IP

- Knowledge of networking protocols, to include HTTP(S), DNS, and TCP/IP

- Experience with AWS products and services

- Experience with programming languages such as Python, Java, C++

- Experience in scripting, programming, or security code reviewing in a common language, such as Python, Java, or C++

- Experience performing security activities across one or more phases of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), such as security design review, threat modeling, secure code review, and security testing

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
