Job Summary Security Analyst responsible for supporting cybersecurity operations, network security, compliance, and security monitoring activities across on-premises and cloud environments. The role requires hands-on experience with secure network design, routing and switching, firewalls, network monitoring, vulnerability management, SIEM platforms, and cloud infrastructure security. The analyst will contribute independently to technical security tasks while supporting senior analysts on complex initiatives and collaborating with leadership, business units, partners, vendors, and technical teams. Key Responsibilities • Assist in maturing network security and compliance solutions. • Investigate and respond to daily network security alerts. • Perform network security assessments for proposed firewall and infrastructure changes. • Conduct technical analysis for network security planning and engineering activities. • Review connectivity, website block, and firewall rule requests to identify potential security risks. • Analyze on-premises and cloud networks for potential threats. • Develop, review, and analyze network traffic reports for violations of approved standards governing ports, protocols, and services. • Monitor emerging threat vectors and recommend appropriate countermeasures. • Collaborate with technical and business teams to implement security controls. • Support cloud and on-premises network changes and enhancement projects. • Support compliance with applicable security and privacy frameworks, including ARC-AMPE, HIPAA, and SCDIS-200. • Assist with KPI creation and trend report monitoring. • Participate in firewall configuration reviews and ruleset recertification. • Provide guidance to technical teams on network security and cybersecurity best practices. • Perform network auditing, security monitoring, and vulnerability assessment activities. • Support Security Operations Center (SOC) activities and perform additional cybersecurity duties as assigned. Required Qualifications • 3-5 years of hands-on experience in network design, implementation, or support. • Hands-on experience in IT security or system administration. • Strong understanding of secure network design, security architecture, compliance tools, data protection, and access models. • Hands-on experience with data network design best practices and routing and switching protocols. • Experience with network security best practices in on-premises and/or cloud networking environments. • Experience with Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems. • Experience with enterprise firewalls, IDS/IPS platforms, network auditing, and network security monitoring. • Experience analyzing logs, alerts, and network telemetry. • Experience with vulnerability scanning tools such as Nessus, Qualys, or similar technologies. • Experience with SIEM platforms such as QRadar or Splunk. • Experience supporting repeatable security processes within compliant enterprise architectures. • Experience supporting security considerations for multi-tenant cloud environments and vendor integrations. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools. • Ability to work independently on technical tasks and collaborate effectively with senior analysts and cross-functional teams. Preferred Qualifications • Experience working in regulatory environments. • Experience supporting health IT or state government environments. • Familiarity with FISMA, NIST, CMS ARC-AMPE, and HIPAA security and privacy standards. • Experience with cloud network security controls across Azure or AWS. • Experience with cloud infrastructure security. • Experience with SIEM platforms such as Splunk. • Strong understanding of security compliance and risk management frameworks. Certifications • PCNSE, CCNA, or another network security-focused certification is required. • CISSP or Security+ certification is preferred.
